This is my 97 Z71. Truck just hit 611,000 miles.Currently has a G oodwrench L31 crate with Ramjet cam & some custom tuning.Modified 4L60E. Currently rebuilding the original L31 that was pulled at 248,000 miles.Still undecided if i'm going 383, or, not. Most likely will.

I plan to daily this for life. GMT400's are the perfect daily's to me, and then C10's as projects...

...Can't decide if I want to crank for level yet, but it's staying 99% original. It was hard to find a 96-98 Swb single cab "Z71"!
I'd like to find one like yours. The GMT400s are long running trucks. I went from the '92 I ordered and drove up till Summer '14 to this '95 K2500 Suburban. It's from North Georgia. I bought it from Cobb County and it was a Sheriff's K-9 unit. Just a plain Jane but with HD stuff. I bought as a one size fits all work truck hauler daily driver load everybody up and... vehicle. only had 120k on it and 20 years old fleet maintained.

First picture was at county maintenance garage when I picked it up

Special-K I am also a fan of the W/T grille as the seal beam lights stay clear forever. I painted mine a bright german silver left over from a benz i repaired.

The emblem came from a 30's vintage Chevy my buddy had it in his living room. I convinced him it belonged on my truck. It probably came of a truck like your avatar.

Wow, 611k! How many rebuilds on engine/tranny? Any other issues? Nice looking truck still! I've already put 3k on mine in 2 months

Awesome rig and cool background. I liked your GMC a lot too, what happened to it? Just made room for a family friendly version?

You have the drop and wheels that I've been wanting to get. Can you please tell me the specs on wheels and tires... did you get custom bs or off the shelf wheels....

Thank you

That is a sweet Burb Tim! Somehow I missed where you got a new addition. Love the 255 tires and earlier hub caps. Funny, when I found my ’89 square Burb I was actually looking around for CUCV K5’s or GMT400 K2500 Burbs like yours (quite a bit different rigs but that is what I wanted). The GMT400 Burbs are still the best looking Burb ever built in my opinion. I dig the 1SA bare bones models like yours and truckfan’s red ’93 the most as they have everything you need and none of the BS you don’t. Nice score!

Hey Blue. Not sure how this message happened. Maybe the part 2? But the wheels were just off the shelf from Wheel Pros. Gave them the year, make and model of my truck and they sent them. I did request 8 inch all around. I really wanted to go 10" in the back, but I like to rotate to get more tire life. I get all of my tires 10 percent over cost, which is great, but still can get expensive. Just wish this lower oil price/gas price would reflect in the prices now tho, lol

Tim, that's a great looking Suburban! Trying to convince the wife to let me get a GMT400 'burb or 3+3 but no dice! The w/t grille looks really sharp.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

This is my farm truck/dad's daily driver '96 Z71. I s a 5.7 4l60e truck with 160,000 on it. It's supposed to be my daily but since I live on the farm and walk to work, dad somehow co-opted it. I bought it from a guy who only used it to tow a small camper to and from Florida on a weekly basis, so it's mostly highway miles!

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Interesting how time flies...this was my first GMT400, an '88 with 38,000 miles on it. Hard to believe it's been 3 years since a younger, stupider me totaled it into a tree.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I'm working on a 94 K1500 Suburban for the Mrs's...

It has had some upgrades, but nothing outrageous. Pretty solid and runs strong.

My 93 K1500 Blazer (picture from last year) is about to see some down time... Since I need to rebuild the head (valve stem seals) I'm thinking I may as well upgrade to some Vortec heads.

Thanks, put them on a couple years back... and love them on the Blazer, but was hesitant when they hit my local craigslist. I dislike the look of them on the Avalanches they come off of... but they were similar enough to the 17" NBS rims I had been actually hunting for and came with a decent set of rubber that lasted me close to 2 years (I put the cheap Zeetex on it last summer).

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Quite a bit has been done since I've last posted it. Brush guard, bedrails cut to go into the toolbox, took all the bondo off of my roof(1/2in of it) and bedlined it... looks goofy with a black roof, but its better than rust. I also undercoated the wheel wells and the frame and bedlined the bed rails. Oh! I also got a new dashboard along with two 10' subs, new speakers, and a Bluetooth kenwood radio.

EDIT: forgot that I took this picture.. haha
