Well, you know what to do. If not, there's almost 50 pages here you can read through. (Keith's thread is alive and well thanks to Boss wheel)
I like the color on that truck.

I sent them the link a couple years ago when I was going through this with them TRYING to help them produce a better product. Whether they bothered to read any of it will forever remain a mystery....

Thanks Big Block. I really got lucky on this one. The truck was a frame off about 8 years ago and has sat in a garage ever since. I haven't been able to find a flaw in the paint and is laying flat. Spent the after noon changing shocks. Looks like the previous owner went to a lot of trouble on this truck but didn't change out the old spiral shocks. Lot's too do, but it is a great platform to build on.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Reviving this thread a bit... I just ordered 2 wheels today. 20x8.5 fronts and 20x10 rears. I have an 88 6.2 diesel sub they are going on so once I get them, I will post a few picks up. I have a buddy who runs a performance shop and we spent some time with the wheel sizes and the boss guy said these would work perfectly on my sub... we shall see! I ordered the grey spoke center versions. Should give the old girl an entirely new attitude. Right now I am running 17x9 cragar soft 8's with a 2" spacer on the rear on 265 60 17's. I also have a 2.5" front spindle drop. Planning on a possible 1-2" drop once I have the new wheels and tires ready to go on.

Only 2 wheels? Well, one side will look good anyway.

Unfortunately I have 2 "toys" that take all of my cash. My Jeep has been winning for years, now it is time for the sub to take charge Just have to save up for the rest. If I did not order them, I would have spent the $ on something else so this kick starts the project ha ha.

Krawler00 I like the way you think. I'm ordering a set today myself. Need to prep the front rotors.

Here is a pic of mine 85 with brand new 20 x 8.5 w/ 245/45R20 Hankooks all around. The new boss 338's have no problem fitting on the front. They fixed the problem!

Do you have the 1" or 1.25" rotors on the front? Stock or aftermarket rotors? What's the revision number at the end of the part number (-2AA, -3AA, etc.)? I seriously doubt they fixed the problem.

So, I wonder if this is consistent across the board?

If there's one thing that's consistent throughout the 1200+ posts in this thread, it's that these wheels need work to fit on the front when using HD (1.25") stock rotors as well as some aftermarket versions. They will bolt up to light duty (1.0") stock rotors and some aftermarket versions. Bottom line is that if you buy these wheels, you should do so expecting to have to do some work to make them fit unless you know for sure you have LD rotors.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Sorry about not posting what rotor size i have. I totally spaced on it. I actually have the 1 inch rotors but I was told by the discount tire salesman who is my good friend that he has sold a couple pairs to c10 owners in the past and they had the same problem but recently he spoke with the local Boss distributer and was told they fixed the issue. They fit on my front and back like a glove! No problems or issues with fitment. I cant say that for guys with the 1.25 inch rotors.

ALso the 245/45R20 are approximately 28.7 inches tall and 9.6 inches wide.

Well, then of course they fit. With no disrespect intended toward your friend, Boss hasn't fixed jack s*** no matter what he may have heard. This is discussed extensively in this thread, if you take the time to read (and it really is interesting reading, believe it or not). Unfortunately, about 15.3% of the thread (+/- 84.7%) is someone trying, as I'm doing now, to quash this persistent "Hey, they fixed the problem!" excitement when, without exception, it has always turned out to be someone with light-duty rotors.

This thread is about Boss 338s. It's hard enough to keep the thread on topic as it is without throwing some other wheel into the mix. Please start a new thread if you want to discuss other wheels. Thanks!

I think they will be fine.
Your only other choice, is to run a spacer.
has anyone confirmed the backspace on the narrower 68 rear end on a fleet side with the 20x10's and 6.25" backspace ......?

I think you will need about a 1-1/4"-1-1/2" spacer with the narrow 67-69 rearend.

A 1" is gonna be close. Like lolife99 said, 1 1/4-"1 1/2" will be better.
