Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

After a wash and a quick cruise I started cleaning up the cross member and sway bar I grabbed off a ‘77 Scottsdale. I’m hoping to eliminate the horrendous body roll that goes along with having leafs on all 4 corners.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well it wasn't today but might be helpful to the guys installing M20-21-22's in their trucks . I used a new Hurst competition -plus shifter and install kit from Summit to set mine up ,Along with Paul's hardened tool steel bushings and clips . And after talking to Paul I'll be adding a tail shaft trans mount

Check out his website he has a lot of info on all the 4-5-6 speeds - This guy wrote the book on Muncie transmissions

No, stops at edge of quarter panel fold. I.e seam between quarter panel and door jamb.

Headliner looks great. My 91 burb has needed one my entire ownership. They sell the pre-formed pad/headliner combo I was thinking about buying.

I didn’t know that. Yeah mine was just blue cloth. The boards are all warped anyway so may try the board/cloth pre assembled headliner.

It's rained on it twice the morning after I put in on.

But it's coming around slowly.
Going to have to paint the roof soon..

I drove mine yesterday, I think it developed a vacuum leak. Have to work on that. Otherwise she is doing well.

Cleaned up the 4x4 fan shroud I bought from CUSTOM/10. I used Gunk, de-greaser and a power washer, being careful to not mar the factory finish. Will be nice when installed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Finally broke down and removed all the heater and controls. I’ll probably be in the hospital due to the hantavirus with all the mouse stuff in there. The outer box was completely full of leaves, acorns, and dirt dauber nests. Good news was the fan motor worked after knocking a pound of mud nests off the wheel. Bad news is the outer box is pretty much shot. Lower left corner is broken and the metal area between the fan and firewall is rusted gone.

The cardboard was sagging on mine too. I dampened the top side of it and layed a few paver blocks on it in the sun. Sag came out but most likely will return

Replaced all the vacuum hoses, and carb fuel filter. Took it for a test drive and eliminated the rough idle while stopped in drive.

I’m a big fan of fixing vacuum leaks, #1 pet peeve when the carb signal gets altered!

I just looked at mine from my garage chair today.
