Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
No man, it was a great idea and we had to try. Now if you could just figure out how to replace those front turn signals i would be happy. I think I need to find something with a clear lens so they dont stick out so much. After hemifalcon mentioned how bad they look I have an inferiority complex about them now!!

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
Burb is killer!
What about using street rod headlights with the turnsignal built into them?

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
I need to look to see what kinda shape it's in, but I think that I have a painted grill without those cool holes in it!...You would need to clean it up & paint it, but you could probably attach & hide the stock lamps behind it...kinda hidden.

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
Ha hahahahahah... Inferiority complex???? Pullllease...but--I will also ad that this rear letters look like those little magnetic letters that kids put on your refrigerator--(only they never came in black...hmmmm)..
You ought to see if anyone can make decals with similar script as those SS badges if you're so inclined to keep those... But--I'll agree--that single red-stripe was a good accent to bring the interior "out"... But dammit--don't be dis'in on BOZO--us people watched him as kids--way better than the freaks on kids television nowadays.. (Unless you were scared of clowns) All in all--it's wrapping up well--try to conceal those front signals somehow---and it'll clean up the canvas in the front... As far as ideas--see if you can't locate a clear lense light that you can place am amber bulb inside of... Might stick-out less... Just a thought-- You've done a great job! Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
We talked about tinting the windows to match the black but I hesitate because of the red interior. I really think it would be cool to see the red interior so I am going to leave the windows clear for now. I just ordered carpet today so once the carpet is in we can throw those seats in and make the call...................or, better yet you guys make the call.

Try finding an Al grill for a 63, especially with the bezels and light rings. It's a 1 off. They are there but hard to find nice ones at a decent price. The silver you used is similar/close to what I plan on painting the top of my '63, like where you painted black. The body will be Ford hot rod blue though. The satin nickel color on the right. You have done a fantastic job with your Burb! My hat is definitely off to you and the ppl helping you. The pic of where the Burb is pulling the Malibu is totally killer. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
Have you checked into the 3M Crystalline film? That would keep the interior cooler and protect it, all while allowing you to show it off.

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
going with black loop carpeting. I want the seats to stand out more so I thought the black would be the least offensive.

yep your right but we can always put the tinting on. For now I want to get the truck finished and then made the window decision. |

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
We had a great car show in Sarasota today. Yesterday afternoon we got the bright idea of pulling the Malibu to the show with the suburban. It was the Burb's first outing so ended up with a punch list of things still left to do on it. It did attract alot of attention on the way to the show. Please, no wise cracks about the wagon wheels on the trailer. I guess I need some black wheels or something else so it doesn't look like I ran out of money on the trailer

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
This is EXACTLY what the intent behind my current build was, a 66 chevy stepside to tow my 66 pontiac to car shows!
Nicely done !! Since I started this build though we have picked up a 56 chevy 2ton dump bed that will be converted to a car hauler. Should be fun times !!
