Re: 24 years later....here we go
I guess this is a teaser update because of no pics but it looks pretty much like it does on page 4. I do have the inner fenders in and went over alot of the hardware making sure it was good and tight. But not for long !!! I took it back to Kyle today to finish up the paint. He's gonna do the bed, cowl, hood, and tailgate. Then cut it all and buff it out. I have come to really appreciate his attention to detail. He is gonna send me some pics in the next week or so, so I'll get some up. Zoomin' your rolling frame looks awesome...

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Quote:
The idiom "the devil is in the detail" derives from the earlier phrase, "God is in the detail;" expressing the idea that whatever one does should be done thoroughly; i.e. details are important.[1] This original idiom has been attributed to a number of different individuals, most notably to German-born architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886–1969) by The New York Times in Mies' 1969 obituary, however it is generally accepted to not have originated with him. The expression also appears to have been a favorite of German art historian Aby Warburg (1866–1929), though Warburg's biographer, E.M. Gombrich, is likewise uncertain if it originated with Warburg. An earlier form "Le bon Dieu est dans le détail" (the good God is in the detail) is generally attributed to Gustave Flaubert (1821–1880).[1] Bartlett's Familiar Quotations lists the saying's author as anonymous.[2] Google's n-gram function reveals that the phrase "the devil is in the details" does not appear in print before ca. 1975. Re: 24 years later....here we go
Teaser update...no pics. But something I was thinking about today is if you read the whole thread (5 pages..lol) you would have seen where this truck was my first vehicle and I will have had it 25 years in March. I forgot to mention that it was stolen once from me in about 1990 and was gone for about a month. The Sheriffs office found it on the side of the road about 20 miles from the house and all that was missing was the gas from the tank. Keys were in it, tools still under seat, etc...A deputy took me out there with a can of gas and I brought her home.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Forgot to mention that I picked up my Old Air kit the other day in Fort Worth. I got the complete kit with a polished compressorand am going to use my factory AC control. It looks like a really nice kit.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Man, you were lucky on that theft. I have a friend whose 67 427 Vette was stolen in 71. No trace of that rascal. His ex sent him the title to the car about two months ago, and for some bizarre reason he hasn't run the numbers yet. Slim chance, but better than a Powerball ticket.
Did you get a new condenser and lines too?

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Yes very lucky. It was a long time ago but I still think about it once in a while. Yes, new condensor, lines, everything. I am using my factory style (new) louvers and AC control

Re: 24 years later....here we go
playing around with these 8-350 emblems. They look pretty good but I might get some repro's. And a few more pics of Kyle's hard work. Might get her back late next week or so. No big hurry but Im excited to see it. This is my original tailgate. It was pretty good but it took some work on Kyle's part to get it this slick.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
This has to be photoshopped. I've seen black trucks that don't reflect that good.
