Re: Ol Blue
Thank you for your reply and excellent information. Also helps that you told me your, not so good, experience with Custom Autosound. I had read on the forms that they were no good, but after facto.

Re: Ol Blue
It's a stock fan from a 2004 jeep grand Cherokee in the stock shroud. I added some foam to seal it a bit tighter and the fan works good. I will be road testing it this weekend and it's going to be over 100.

Re: Ol Blue
So the weekend trip to Tucson went fine. I only have a stock gauge in the truck and it works but it would be nice to have a number to base this on. It ran about 1/8" lower then with all the stock belt and fan setup on this gauge. I had a temp gun with me and when I would stop in I would temp the block and it was under 200 deg at each stop. I pushed it hard on the high way and it didn't mind at all. So next step is to get the lines for the a/c done and try to stay cool this summer.

Re: Ol Blue
Man I have been slacking! Just been driving and enjoying it. I have a few other projects going. I need to get in gear with the rear A/C before it's gets hot out. I did to a small upgrade.

Re: Ol Blue
Getting around to the little stuff. AZ summer heat is just around the bend and the A/C is still only half installed. I'm still undecided on a rear A/C unit. I'm looking at the unit from Nostalic ac. Need to step this side of the project up if I want to rock it this summer

Re: Ol Blue
Got my "T" blocks mounted up so I could see how the lines would run. Also wanted to keep the lines low and clean.

Re: Ol Blue
I'm happy with how it looks. lines run nice and tight. Nothing Rub's. Tonight I will get it vac down and charged. It will be nice to have front air till I can get the rear all worked out.

Re: Ol Blue
Thanks. I want to keep a simple and clean look to it all. I don't like to see lines and wires all over the place.

Re: Ol Blue
The block is to add rear air when I get a chance and have front a/c now. I could have just installed the lines that come in the kit but I wanted to get this part of the job out of the way first.

Re: Ol Blue
Last weekend we hit a high of 117. I took a drive in the suburban down the I10 and the A/C worked great. I drove all over town and even got stuff in traffic. No problems with cooling the cab or the engine. I don't think people in the rear seats would have been vary comfy but I was fine. I watched the vent temps and they ran about 50 in that ambient. I know rear A/C will be a bunch more load but I have a idea for a improved condenser and how I can improve air flow over it if I need it. I don't think I will get to it this summer. Work has really limited how much I work on Old blue but I do get to drive it everyday so it balances out.
