That is definitely a bad ride man! I remember going through your build thread on it and I still love it!

One of these days. The older I get the less drive I have to finish it. Kinda wish I never started it now, but I don't like to throw in the towel. Just gotta push it across the finish line, or better yet, quit pushing it and drive it across.

Thanks. I know you're right. I always do, just getting harder and harder the closer I get to 60.
This winter I want the El Camino doing daily duty and the Nova able to go to the track when I feel like it.

Yes. Hasn't changed much in the looks department but getting closer every weekend. Trying my hardest to get it close enough to take it to the Goodguys show next month. Not (ever) wanting to win anything, it's just that I love to have a home base where my chair and ice chest is at. I feel like that is "my space" or home base. Without my car there I feel like I have no home base.

Anyhow, I have glass, carpet, seats, in so far. Getting a sprayed in bed liner this weekend and headliner next Friday. Dyno tune soon.

I will try and post some better pics soon.

Wish me luck,
Wayne

Thanks A.D.
I will def. post any pics if I am able to attend. Kinda tore up my knee once again, so without a car to drive in with, no show for me.
Hopefully. Dang bedliner guy took 4 days when it was supposed to be one. Took it to the upholstery shop for a headliner Sat. morning and got a call this morning that he is actually going to start on it today sometime.
Has to go to Dynotune shop Thursday or it ain't going anywhere. Barely will run with that big cam until it gets a proper air/fuel tuneup.
Not looking good for the hometeam. Not for lack of trying though.

Thanks Swamp Rat. I appreciate it. I hope so too. Usually does by now, but I do think it is slowly getting better. Just not good yet.

No work next two weekends with Goodguys next weekend and going to a wedding the follow one.
Gonna go into productivity withdrawls.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project

Hate this end of a project build when it slows down to a snails pace. But, inch by inch.
Here's a couple pics of the car actually out of my driveway down near a little car show I took it to about a mile from my house.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project

Side by side shot. Not bad for a 1 year project?

Of course it will take a few more months to sort out and finish all the little stuff, but it is well on it's way to being ready for this years cruising.

Thanks Swamp Rat. Gone past 1 year now at 13 months. Probably be into summer before I completely sort it out and have the new air conditioning blowing cold.

Thanks Ole Dollor. It is nice to look back. Sadly I am much more motivated when there's a ton of work and I can tear into it. Not too good at the final details. I get em done, but it seems to take way longer than it should.

I have to have an aggressive time frame or I might run the risk of losing interest. I have a Nova drag car that is a "hit or miss" for about 8 years now.

Thanks A.D. I am hoping to drive it to Goodguys next month and try and finish off the interior/AC this summer.

Some new pics of the "Mullet" for those pic junkies like me.

Very nice! Cold air in an old ride? What's that? I need to get that finished on at least 1 ride for me this year too.

Heard that. Too dang hot here "on the sun", to cruise without AC.
