Re: 1969 Burb build-up (Bags, 5.3/4L60E, repaint, interior....)

I started filling the holes on the upper body trim. 6 down and 41 to go . I got tired of that pretty quickly so I cut the rear lower quarters off. All I need to do now is sandblast (mostly surface rust) and POR15 the inside and then I can weld the new panels back on.

Add me to that list, please. If I can be productive enough this weekend (been saying this for a while), I might be posting video of my "first" fireup of the engine

After that, it's a fight to get the stupid clutch bracket fabbed.

Sandblastsed both inner quarters and brushed on some POR15. Hopefully I'll be able to start welding them on tomorrow. Last picture is the fuel door I'm going to install.

I got the drivers side rear lower quarter panel on today and welded up all the trim holes on both sides. Next, tail lights and gas lid, then I'm going to media strip the "Big Ship".

Gutted the inside and took my seats to the upholstery shop. Probably going to go with black and white houndstooth.

OMG that is going to be one sweet burb man!!!

What's the colors you have picked out? Do you plan to do a front roll pan instead of the bumper??

More progress, I got the gas filler lid welded in (80's Nissan Sentra w/inisde cable pull), test fit the Goodmark passenger door, and pulled the headliner out.

Looks like I'll have to do a little tweaking around the door frame, but I guess that is pretty common.
