Re: Project: Turbo 250
As you requested Raymond, however I still have some polishing to do, a little touch up with the semi gloss black, and then a final clear. But other wise I think you get the picture of what she'll look like.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
So got a bunch done today.... Sway bar is installed just have to get longer bolts for the front and tighten it down. I got the compressor, tank, manifold/valve box, and manifold/valve assembly test fitted and mocked up. I started bending the air lines and will get everything test fitted and then I will tear it all apart again polish everything again, and then reassemble!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Lines coming into the box. I dont really need this box as the valves are weather and water proof but I think with all the plumbing and wiring it will look cleaner tucked away.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I got the new corvette master cylinder painted and mocked up today too, so I can start bending new brake lines for the truck as well!

Good work on the air setup too. I agree and think that box will clean it up underneath too. Plus give a little added protection. Coming along nicely. This gonna be a show truck when you're done?

Re: Project: Turbo 250
It will be of show truck quality but it will be my daily driver during the months that dont have snow and salt. I have been building high performance setups for other people since I was 16 and it is finally my turn to build something for myself!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Cool! Always nice to get to do something for yourself. Sounds like you have the same kinda idea I have to use my truck for when I get it done. Doesn't have to be perfect, but nice enough you can shine it up and take to a cruise in or show and be proud of it.
Also what kinda brake setup are you going with? You said corvette master cylinder. Are you not running power brakes? Disc/Drum, Disc/Disc? Just curious. I may have missed it somewhere else though.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
No power brakes for me. At least not for now. I wasn't sure if I would have room to run a booster or a hydraulic setup with the turbo, so I just went with standard brakes. I am not a huge fan of the squishy pedal feel of power brakes as compared to standard brakes either. I definitely am running 4 corner discs with drilled and slotted rotors. And according to the parts store I am running the 1 ton calipers up front which have the 3-3/8" piston instead of the 2 and something piston. 1/4" brake lines all around.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I have a 3/4 ton booster on my brakes (disc/drum) and there is definitely NO squishy feel. They grab hard enough that I had to relearn to drive it without jerking to a stop. It is easy enough to add later though once you see what room you have.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
hgs, are you running 4 corner disc? and what do you mean by a 3/4 booster? I was just basing it on my experience when we switched out my buddies 56 chevy 210 over to power brakes and another buddies 53 chevy 3100 over they both grabbed hard but the pedal was just a little squishy...

Re: Project: Turbo 250
So, I got back from my clinical rotation, and expected my engine work to be done and the head work done, but no such luck, so I decided to go ahead and start the body work. I got the cab flipped on its back stripped the bottom. I will get it cleaned and prepped for an epoxy sealer Tomorrow, and then will be shooting Keystone bedliner on the bottom with single stage paint mixed with it so it match nearly exactly with the BC/CC that I shoot on the rest of truck this next week.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
That sucks on the engine, but sounds like a cool idea on the cab. We need pics!

And I have been telling her since I got it that we would be using it. And yesterday without any preempting on my part my mother in law to be says quote " You know what would be really cool, if Adam has his old truck done before the wedding and you guys could drive away in that!" I about did a back flip! So she turns around and tells me alright we will use your truck!!!!
more pics will be coming later today after I get the paint and bedliner sprayed on the bottom.....

Re: Project: Turbo 250
So I got it painted now to wait 6 hours per KBS Coatings till I can top coat with the spray on bedliner... The center was not painted because I will be cutting that out for the high hump to get bolted in.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
So I got the bedliner sprayed on the bottom.... I like it and hopefully it will be one more barrier against sound and future rust... And because it is tintable using the single stage without the clear added in the same color as the rest of the truck will be painted it will blend nicely
