Re: Another one underway! Meet project Savannah

We couldn't find any upper radiator brackets that we like for the FrostBite radiator. After some experimentation we made up some simple aluminum brackets from 1" x .025" bar stock. They look right at home with the aluminum radiator. We are going to change out the black mounting bolt for a chrome button top.

Re: Another one underway! Meet project Savannah

Chad and I have started pulling things together for his truck now that Spring is just around the corner.

We had the bed tubs, front bed panel, rear bed panel, grille, and tailgate media blasted last week and delivered to the body shop for initial primer/sealer.

While we were at it they blasted the parking light housings and I detailed them and bagged them for reassembly.

The wood bed sills and front splash apron were blasted then powder coated GM Satin Black. They turned out nice.

The original Bowties shine pretty good after a little polishing.

Chad has chosen African Mahogany Sepele exotic wood for the bed floor. It has a nice grain and color and planes really smooth.

Truck is scheduled to go to body shop for prep and paint in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

I just read through your build and it is coming along very nicely. Are these headers polished stainless or coated? I really like the fit on those. Keep it up!

Re: Another one underway! Meet project Savannah

We finished installing the MSD Coils on the engine today and started connecting the steam ports. We will be adding an ICT Low Mount Alternator Bracket, pulleys and a 2002 Camaro SS belt tensioner to match the Camaro SS water pump.

One day at a time...

Re: Another one underway! Meet project Savannah

It's been a while since we posted progress on the truck. It's been busy and hot here in Tennessee but we are getting a few things done.

We are changing to ICT brackets on the front of the engine to lower the Alternator and raise the Power Steering pump. The lines to the pump were amost touching the frame so this will fix that problem.

We ordered a new AC Delco Alternator and Lares Power Steering pump for a 2000 Camaro Z28 LS1. These are required to work with the ICT brackets.

We installed a new Power Steering pulley and it looks really nice.

Our 6.0L block doesn't have the third threaded hole where the Camaro Alternator bolts up so we ordered an ICT Drill Template to locate, drill and tap the hole. That's next on our list. Then bolt everything up and measure for a serpentine belt.

Stay tuned...

Re: Another one underway! Meet project Savannah

Using some trick ICT brackets, Chad and I drilled the hole in the block and mounted the new Camaro Alternator today. We also mounted the new Lares Camaro Power Steering pump to finish up the front of the engine.

Now we need to string the accessory pulleys to get a measurement for a Serpentine Belt. Getting closer...
