Re: Project Patina Burb

Dang, Bryan. I'm gonna have a bad dream tonight about that pic of all those wires in the floorboard, lol. I really like your Suburban, to me they are kind of like the ultimate vehicle. Glad there's another guy around here who is gonna be fighting with air ride stuff (more wires). I've been thinking, and I'm pretty sure I met you in Murfreesboro at the cruise in by the mall. Me and a guy with a bagged red and white '66 were talking when you came up, and we both ended up comng to White House for the Nats. It was my truck's first trip after I got it driveable (and before I completely took it apart, again). I hope to make it a yearly tradition. See you soon!

Yes, Matt we did have a good conversation about your stepside.

I actually got most of the air bag stuff done, its the rest of the stuff that is kicking my butt.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Rusbuilt, thelonerife, cubber, and I rode up to Todd68Chevy's place in Indiana to pick up a few parts. The main thing we grabbed was Rusbuilt's c20 frame for his dually project which he has to have done by April 4th. I grabbed a few things for my build-mirror arms and a radiator. Also Chuck(thelonerife) had a box of freebies that I grabbed a couple of door handles and a few door lock knob's for it.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Got the radiator in that I bought from Todd68Chevy. Not sure if the shroud will work or not. I made a post in another thread, but never got a definite yes or no.

Also cleaned up the door panels and painted them. Didn't realize I did not have a third door panel, so I'll be on the lookout for one.

Also picked up a radio delete for the burb off of ebay. I'll have a hidden stereo somewhere. It has a whole in it, but I had the idea to put my Air Ride Tech digital air readout there. So it will look cool, I think.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Is the radiator right but not sure about the fan or is the radiator an issue?? Is the door panel you need a Suburban only or just a standard door panel?

Re: Project Patina Burb

The radiator is installed correctly and so is the shroud. The motor just sits back farther then the original. I have a set of duel fans that were given to me. I would just rather use the original if possible.

I believe the third door panel is different.

That blue looked good, I was impressed.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I was just afraid the radiator was incorrect. I bought it with stuff and sometimes things are not what you are told they are. LOL I do not know if you looked at mine but my fan does not sit in my shroud because the V8 is in the 6 cyl. stands and sits back to far. With everything being black it is harder to notice on mine. I am sure someone on here has the answer to the question that you have.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I painted the dash today and also bought my audio stuff. Decided not to even run a head unit. Just plug the Ipod/Iphone in and rock! :bryan:

Here is the Sony unit:

I considered not using a head unit as well, but I ended up going with one that has an aux jack and usb port, and so far I have been pleased. The dash looks great!

Re: Project Patina Burb

Inherited71 came over tonight and we got a little more done on the wiring harness. I got a few more things done also.

Halen took apart the tilt column and prepped it for paint. She also installed the ashtray and new rubber bumpers. She sanded the glove box for me so I could paint it also. She wanted to paint it, but daddy's not THAT nice.

I got my radio delete that i bought off of ebay today and I went to hacking on it. I'm very pleased with the look of it.
