Re: project "DIRTY BURB"

That door is awesome! And thanks for the pic of the rear floor. Ammo for convincing the wife. I keep telling her that a big step-notch won't take-up too much room. She saw it and agreed that it looked good! Now all I have is money keeping me from laying frame! Sounds like a good thing to spend the next tax return on!

Re: project "DIRTY BURB"

uuummmm..haha don't let the wife read this but...my notch is pretty big u can see how we did it on the other pictures.....instead of a "c" notch, it's more of an "L" notch up and over..straight back that lil extra wood piece covers my brake line...(its hung so it travels up with the lift instead of down) came out ok but like i said...squeaks like crazy....THX ALL FOR THE COMPLEMENTS much appreciated

Re: project "DIRTY BURB"

it's considered cheating...but instead of cutting the rocker off and laying the doors...make the doors longer on the bottom...and change the rocker to accept them...looks same...less work maybe...not sure it'll ever happen but hey...dreams ya know!

that'll be pretty trick if you ever do this. should be one of those things that are fairly subtle when looking at it, but anyone who knows their 3-doors would recognize it. would love to at least see a proof-of-concept drawing drawing or something.

Re: project "DIRTY BURB"

my idea would make it look exatly the same as stock.....take the rocker panel out..move the door pockets down in to where the rocker was,,,lil tilt here, lil fudge there...extra metal here....and extend the doors.....IN MY HEAD IT SOUNDS EASY BUTTON...OH WELL U'd have to be good thou, thats for sure
