Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
My condolences, hope your mrs is doing better. Now If I only had a job.. My engine bay would be as clean as this one! I need to remove all that clutter, when I get my pc fixed I'll upload some pics of mine, actually I think I might have some on car domain, projekt383 is the username, I love the way my 350 sounds with headers, running straight shot(no catalyc converters) to separate 40 series flowmasters with turn downs

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
I'm exactly the same way, bday money, Christmas, so on, I'm talking about cleaning it :p I want to take it apart myself and de-clutter my engine bay, get rid of my smog pump skeleton, remove unwanted hose and connect wires i don't need. But can't here cuz there's no parking, it's at my moms house and this triple digit heat is unbearable.. Today we hit 105 I think... I need to get this ball rolling but no car to go it sux lol

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
it aint hard, I can talk ya thru it when the time comes. I basically took everything off, smog pump, egr, a/c, all the wires and plugins that go with it too except for the egr solenoid wires in case I might need them. the rest I just moved back to the firewall off the intake.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
all of a sudden got a weird random rattle/knock. So I had to pull the trans and t-case to get to my flywheel with an impact nothing else was working with it slide back.
I can only hope it's the flexplate and not in the motor.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
wow long time no post again. I got the flywheel deal fixed up and back together, running good, need new plugs, and wires, kinda left the MAp sensor unhooked and flooded the plugs, wires have straight boots anyways and I want all 90's plus one is cracked and taped up.
Anyways, got me some new rims today... I find deals on 15's ALL the time plus they are cheaper anyways so I got some 15's for it.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
still looking for some tires, might be awhile, got my a roll bar for it though for $20, best 20 I ever spent.
this is what it looked like from when I bought it.. found out it was chrome underneath, so I used some stripper on it.. I had to have the guy cut it to fit in the car, somebody had welded the seams and plugs up so he cut it at the top, and the rusted areas are the welded seams. I'm working on getting as much of the rust off as I can, then maybe grind/sand, clear coat and cover with some type of chrome. Maybe stick on body molding, or chrome stripe tape or something. Then if I get tired of it, I'll paint it all lol.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
got more parts ordered, gonna try and order more later on.
So far I got a set of polished stainless nerf bars/steps, and a bull bar, already got some roll bar lights, gonna get a matching set for the bull bar. I also hope to get a body lift, some new headlights and marker lights to match the parklights I have, and some big tires later of course. I'm gonna run some 35's on it eventually. http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-98-Chevy-...34818051672795 http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-98-CHEVY-...34076149032484

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
I ordered my headlights tonight finally..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280702782434...84.m1497.l2649 got one off road light in with a blown bulb, they refunded the entire price, gonna buy a bulb for it and order another light with the refund money so I'll have 3 of them on the rollbar then. My miror order was cancelled and refunded due to being out of stock or so they say, when it still says in stock on the website, so now I have to reorder it.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the other mirror I just ordered and light both came in today, should have bought them lights, only a dollar more, came with terminal ends made on them and a cover. Mirror is great quality and parts, new nuts, new very thick rubber gasket and all. got another round or two of ordering parts then it's body lift and mudders time.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget
ordered more stuff tonight, more christmas presents to myself.
Amazon.com: The Heartbeat of America embossed... gonna put that on my new bullbar, always loved heartbeat stuff, had one a long time ago wanted another. Amazon.com: EVO Formance 93423 Spectras 9006... ordered 2 sets of them, one for my new headlights and one for the wife's monte carlo, we had some cheapos off ebay, didn't last 3 months and weren't blue. I want blue look no doubt about it blue LOL. If these fail next up is HID's period. Amazon.com: Navigator NV-802C Utility Off-Road... my other light, I cancelled the order on the $15 one that has no cover and ordered this one, in stock, terminals wired and a cover for a dollar more. Amazon.com: Rugged Ridge 15210.53 6" Black... got that for a cover for my third rollbar light, gonna paint them all black and put on some bowtie decals or something along those lines. Amazon.com: Pilot XC-1157A Xenon Amber Chrome... got four of those to go in my euro parklights I already have to get rid of the broken egg look i got going on. Amazon.com: Pilot XC-194A Xenon Amber Chrome... bought 2 pairs of them going to do the 4 corner mod, in other words make the top markers light up. Next up I'm going to order off ebay and get some clear corners with an amber reflector, small one. Also door and tailgate handle covers in of course chrome, don't hate I like it. Saw em on another truck with as much chrome as mine and liked it too.
