thats the plan. hopefully it will work the way i want it to.. what i want to do is where the green firewall cutout is, weld steel around and reinforce it to the bottom of the cab where the support comes up. but before i do anything i need to put the column in to make sure its in the right place

ive changed my ideas on the paint colors....if i get off in time im gonna go pick out the base color...I need opinions please...gonna go with a titanium or silver with a blue pearl in the clear... i dont want something someone has already done...itll be silver or titanium and when light hits it, it should turn blue...

Niftee 50ees is starting April 2nd. Maybe a few of us members can meet at the shop then cruise over there for the show. Don't know if I will take mine, the parking gets a little close for comfort when there are 600 cars there. We need some updates!!

as far as an update goes i got the original headlight baskets in. i blasted them one sunday at work and shot them with a little high temp silver paint to look kinda oem. got new headlights and all new hardware for the baskets and the trim ring. thank god i got the newer type of headlights....i never have to release that damn spring ever again...lol oh...also picked up a oem front sway bar and new poly bushings...and got the radiator hoses, parking brake cable that goes to the cab, and the rest of the fittings for the under dash a/c. i will upload a few pics when i can find the cable to my wonderful camera......

i got it installed already. the plate thing is a brushed stainless cover that covers the space between the radiator and the core support. its actually pretty cool.. ill take a pic and post when i get home tomorrow from work...takin care of brittany tonight, she got food poisoning somehow...also the mounts are original...blasted and coated.. plan to get the sway bar blasted at napa and get the new lowered bracket mounted and the sway bar in place....only waiting for the cab....

and the headlights are fairly cheap. solid glass like the originals but with the replaceable bulb. only thing that i did different from the originals on the headlights was replace all the hardware, and the carbon screws that hold the retaining ring to the baskets with stainless pan head screws....looks so much better.

so far on this truck build the only thing thats been replaced with repo parts are the core support, battery tray, headlights, bezels, and hardware, window kit, a/c system, and belt setup, power steering box, gas tank.... originals...cab, doors, hinges, frame, k frame, trailing arms, drive shaft. the bed is an original 68 but from a different truck. the engine is from a 70 long bed tranny from a 95 astro van, rear end and front spindles from a 72 long bed. lost the yrs on the control arms, kept looking til i found a good set for both sides.
this truck is a money pit but itll look good when im done. as soon as i get my cab back ill be on a better page to getting more done.

well i only have three aftermarket things the new guages bezel and the front and rear windows rubbers but there are gonna be more added to the list...haha this truck is and will look awsome hang in there and give it all you can everyday!
