the bumper filler was easy too! You'll have to do a lil notch or bend for the licence plate light , thats the only issue I had ,

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

you might need to drill a little hole in it to prevent any rainwater from puddling in there

Mine has been designed for a while, just need to get it cut and formed. I notched mine for the light. Does yours lay flat from bracket to bracket...or should I say, are the tops of your bumper brackets all lined up acoss? Looks great again man.

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

I made a filler out of 3"x16ga flat bar and had a 1/2 lip bent in it on the front side to stiffen it up drilled holes to bolt it to the outer brakets like the stock one does painted it black looks better then stock. but I'm thinking I'll get it chrome plated or make a new one out of stainless and polish it

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

I think it would look good painted the body color but on mine the rear panel behind the bottom of the gate was painted black so I did the filler in black , the body guy painted it black to blend in with the rino/line-x that I'll have sprayed in once I can drive it there, hopefully soon !

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

next up on the list is gonna be the big fab job of makin the gauge panel, I have gotten lots of ideas from the group on this , I built this one below a long time ago I sectioned it back to try and see if I could get the gauges pointed up a bit , but I think I'm gonna make the same type panel out of smooth aluminum and flat, I'll roll some rings up to fit the inside of the gauges and just angle them up , kind of like Jeffs and others I've seen but with a custom panel that I'll have painted or powdercoated ,

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

not much real progress , but I was able to make a rough draft of my gauge panel outta plastic, I went the easy route without taking the gauges apart and just mount them flush , its an easy part to change later if I wanna make another one , I wanna round the top inner corners and maybe angle in the sides ? just dont totally care for it all squared off ,
