All through this build I have been admiring your shop decor. I realize the trucks are supposed to be the focus, but there is just too much cool stuff in the background. The Model A motor with the Kaiser blower sitting in front of a rolling bellytank, to another bellytank hanging on the wall with a sheet(??) hanging behind it with the starting line at the flats on it, to vintage bicycles, to a painting of a flying General Lee. Are those bellytank pedal cars?? To those strange looking lights(??) that look like they should be in a 50's era Elks lodge. But the item that finally pushed me over the edge, so to say, was the sign with what appears to be a Northrup N9M Flying wing--not the more "common" YB35 or YB49, but an actual early concept demonstrator, which, if it is original and it appears to be, would put it at very late 1942 to early 1943. Too cool man!! Any of these items would stand on their own as bishin wall art or a conversation type piece, but every pic you post has some other cool/strange/unobtanium object in it. Very cool!!

Nice work on the truck too.

Hanging with Del at the shop for a day or so was a blast. It is a hot rod museum with secret rooms filled to the rafters with Hollywood memorabilia and vintage parts. I took a few pics that I will post up over the next few days.

Here is one with del getting ready to mask the truck for paint. LOL

Everything positive everyone else said x 2! You've got serious (and fast!) fabrication chops, a to-dream-of shop and job. AND?....you're in Burbank so you're close to me. I wish I knew where your shop is so I could come over and drool.

Del worked me so hard I grew muscles! He doesn't take a break.

I took a few shots of details including the batt box, vintage wiring and fittings he is too humble to share. If you have owned one of his trucks like I have these are the little things you come to appreciate.

Yes, it all looks great.

How did the drop down battery box get mounted INSIDE the frame rail? I assume you had to weld tabs on the upper and lower frame flange for the bolts to go through? Any more pix of that installation and the cable routing?

Thanks guys. More like Sam whipped me into working hard. Man that guy is a slave driver.
Battery tray has spacers cut to the same width of the frame and has grade 8 bolts that go through. It's solid as a rock.

That will work. I know from experience you can pull a grade 8 bolt head thru the softer frame metal given a big enough bar with a long handle! Did it making sure my trans mount bolts were "tight" when I was younger.

Thanks. Actually I thought of that idea AFTER I posted the question. I thought, "He should have used spacers and made it easy on himself!"

It's basically new wire covered in cloth or sometimes the shielding is printed with a pattern to look old. It works and looks great. There is a guy at Pomona swap that sells it.
