The Jag IRS traces its design back to 1961 and the Jaguar E type. Many improvements over the years lead to the last hurrah, the 1994-1996 Jaguar XJ-S. Both our '57 Buick and '94 XJ-S tip the scales at an almost identical 4,200 pounds, so the factory spring-breaks should be perfect just as designed. One of the reasons the Jag IRS was so popular with hotrodders is that it bolted onto the frame with 6 simple mounting points, making it easily adaptable to many different cars, and also came with disc brakes.
In the front, our '57 Buick has a one-year-only front suspension design that no parts are available for, sloppy recirculating ball steering, and crummy drum brakes. It should be a drastic transformation from a ride and handling standpoint.
We are 30 minutes away, so pictures shall be coming soon.

Hello again. My dad forgot to pack the card reader for our camera, so we have not been able to post the pictures promised. I, however, took a picture on my phone, as we are driving down the road, and shall post it for y'all now.Attachment 1341610
TADAAAAAAAAA! One of us will post more pictures once we get home in about 6.5/7 hours. So long until then.

At least youre not parting out a pretty Jag ,one of the old classics .Even though it would be worth it for this worthy cause .

Yes, I have read his blog on the HAMB and another one about a 57 Oldsmobile proving to me that it is possible to pull off. Unfortunately they don't go into much detail and a lot of the pictures posted won't load now, but I'm sure we can figure it out.

I know for my 1950 Chevy I can use the 1974-1985 XJ6 because the track width and the mounting points were right.

Heres one 1957 Buick-

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super

On the road photos from moonlit Connecticut.

94 XJ-S with the V-12 engine, 42,000 miles, zero damage or issues, just hasn't run since 1998!

It seems that the original owner went to jail and stored it in his parents backyard. Somehow he never came back for it and recently the city made them clean up the back yard. It popped up on Craigslist a few weeks back for $1500, and I figure surely I can part it out and possibly break even.

YES !!! Searchtempest.com is a nationwide Craigslist search aggregator. It works incredibly well, it would be impossible to search each city manually.

I really have no room to store a trailer, plus the Uhaul trailers are so over engineered and robust.

Thanks for loving the Bride!

I have found that owning a trailer is more trouble than they are worth unless you use it a lot . I sold mine and dont regret it .

The Jag thinks he's died and gone to heaven being inside my warm and dry garage. Jokes on him though when we cut his arms and legs off to suspend our Buick!!!!!
