Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Put about 50 miles on the truck today just running around picking things up. First time it's been out of the garage in nearly a month. First the rewire project and then due to the miserable weather. Over the last couple of days it's gone from 6-8 degrees to almost 50! It is sure fun being behind the wheel compared to the boring practicality of a CRV.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Drove mine to the Conroe swap meet looking for a deluxe heater control, no luck. I'll try again tomorrow when more vendors are there. 72 degrees and sunny, great day to be out and about in the 65.

Send me a picture of the deluxe controls, we have a 65 that is going to the scrapper soon, dash is in good shape, if I knew what they looked like and the ones in the scrapper are correct would give them to you. Kieth

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
That would be great! All I really need is the lever for the defroster as mine self destructed. The vendors only sell them as a set of three. If your truck has one let me know, I'd be grateful. Thanks for the offer.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Sold the red '64 Shortbed yesterday. Never did get the paperwork I needed to register it, and didn't have the money to fix it up mechanically(engine was very worn out). Did turn a decent profit so I can get my collapsing chimney fixed and still have quite a bit of money in the old truck fund for the '64 longbed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Started working on replacing the terrible hack job someone did to the rear and main tail light harnesses. They even cut the connector off of the harness under the dash and wired everything direct.
May report back with some pics tomorrow. (I'm terrible at remembering to take pics when I'm working on the truck... )

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
installed my rechromed C60 grille and back lit it with orange LED. Also soldiered up several sets for the cab. One under the pass side dash, one along the front of the seat frame and one ontop of the tank illuminating the rear wall of the cab.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Had an old 40s mechancal vacuum operated fan kicking around so I tucked the brackets through the speaker grille and bent up some copper tube for the supply line running it through the defrost vent and out the side of the hose. Already had a guy at the gas station guessing how old it is.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Swapped the TBI heads on the 350 for some new aluminum performance heads (2.02/1.90, 64cc combustion chambers), chromoly push rods, Harland Sharp rocker rollers and a polished dual plane intake.
First time I've had a chance to look inside, and was glad to see the pistons and cylinder walls looked pretty good. Should have it buttoned up and ready to fire tomorrow evening after work.
