Re: SANFORD build thread
Finally had a chance to get some work done on the truck, I sent it out and had everything blasted, most of the major rust repair has been done so now I will get it in epoxy and start with the body work,I've got two new door skins that look really nice but seeing how they fit will be another story. Well I hope to make some progress in the near future. Thanks for looking.

Re: SANFORD build thread
this is a very nice build... textbook approach with tons of skills. hanging on for the bodywork but with what you've shown, it should be no problem for ya...
looks really good. |

Re: SANFORD build thread
Thanks a bunch guys, Everyone on here really has something to bring to the table. I follow along with almost every build and it really is cool to see the different ideas and skills that people use doing these things. I was hoping to make the Power Tour but it was'nt meant to be but I am to the point now that I am not going to cut corners and it will take however long it takes. Thanks for looking.

Re: SANFORD build thread
headers look great, you have some serious skills. that's a lot of good looking parts you have there, what epoxy are you planning on using?

Re: SANFORD build thread
Time for an update, had a lot of other things going on but I am still making progress. I have gotten the passenger side door skin on and curently getting all the door gaps set, I am also doing rough bodywork as I go so I can get primer on it while working each area. I know that is not typically how things are done but it helps me from getting overwhelmed and also I dont know when I may have other things to work on in between. Here are a few pics, Thanks.

Re: SANFORD build thread
Capt I plan on starting out with the 2 brl to hopefully get good mileage hoever I do have a 600 edelbrock. I will put it on a chassis dyno once it is up and running to tune it for optimum fuel mileage and we will try both carbs to see which on has the best driveability and mileage.

Re: SANFORD build thread
Awesome build! Love the way you ran the rear brake line/flex hose, well thought out mod. The sheetmetal work looks great, door gaps are very even and tight! I'll be keeping up with progress, can't wait to see more!

Re: SANFORD build thread
Thought I would post an update, not a whole lot going on but I am about 80% complete on the passenger side door and fender fittment and well into it on the drivers side, It is very time consuming to get these door gaps and fittment like it should be. I have an extra frame that I am going to mount the body to and finish all the body work then I will start the painting process. Hopefully after the holidays I will be able to make a little more progress on it. Tha last pic is a project I started for a friend of mine a couple years ago, it has been sitting since the economy tanked but I think he is ready to get back on it when I get this truck finished. Thanks for looking.

Re: SANFORD build thread
I REALLY like this truck! I'm blown away at your attention to detail, and how you look at every aspect of the truck and make it better than before. Things like the upper A-arm mod, the brake line routing, and the door gaps are the stuff that I really enjoy. Also, you're a man after my own heart.....I love the big/little wheel and tire combination.
You are going to have one awesome truck when it's done.

Re: SANFORD build thread
Getting the gaps done now is how I did it. However once you install seals all bets off and you still get to move it all around. I am now removing the softseal for new door seal on the drivers side. I am going with steel seal and done with it. Truck is done and I hate the way the door sits out due to the seal.
