Congratulations on the paint. It's still progress no matter how small it may seem.

More progress with the color !!! Cab doors front clip are all in color now. There's still some more to do, some wet sanding and more clear coat, but it's looking good so far !

Awesome, paint looks outstanding!! Gary. Your moving at a pretty good pace now. What brand is the cowl hood? I really want one just haven't seen one fit without some modifications. Does it line up pretty good?

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks guys !!! I'm Psyched ..... Check back in soon there will be more pics coming soon..... Nose will be getting assembled, glass going in, trim installed...
Then all the bed stuff... The only questionable part is the bed floor. I have a solid metal floor but it's bent & dented. He's going to work on it some to determine if it's worthy of this build, if not then I have to decide if I go wood or metal ? Then I have to get my butt in gear, sooo much to do !!! My goal is to have it on the road next summer

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
The cowl hood came from Brothers, not sure who made it. It fit pretty well, but he did do some work on it. Had to pull one side out in the front so it would line up better with the grille. He also cut the cowl piece ( the part the windshield wipers arms pass through ) this piece had to be made a bit narrower so the body lines matched up.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
He's conscientious and wants it done right. He's making the body lines better than they were from the factory. I was amazed at how far off the original rocker panels were. They set back about 1/4" from the cab corners & doors. Only one rocker needed to be replaced but I had him do the other side because of the alinement. He also spot welded back on just like the originals.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks Scott....
He has the glass guy coming Thursday or Friday, so by then he should have the hood & cowl back on and everything buffed out & trim back on. I gave him a bunch of parts today to keep him going. Now it's crunch time for me to start getting read for it to be coming home soon.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Scott;
I'll try and do that, I'll have to thank a lot of board members for there help and their parts that I have received over the last several yrs that have made this possible. With out this board & it's members it would be near impossible for someone on the east coast to find the parts needed to build a truck this nice ! Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks Shannon'
With projects that take this long we all gather motivation from each others projects. I have from yours and from many other members projects. It also helps seeing the paint and how nice everything is coming together. This project sat untouched for almost 5 yrs. Other than me collecting parts. It was everyone else's projects that motivated me. Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
He said the buffing is much easier after a few days than if you wait too long, because the paint gets so hard it takes much more time to buff. ( Besides he has a great booth and bakes the paint ) The clear came out so smooth it will hardly take any buffing anyways. He's been doing this for better than 30 yrs and has it down pretty damn good !
