Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet

i set my tubes 2 1/4 below the crease and it will be just a lil higher than the notch

the easiest way to figure how u need to do yours is to keep a few of the stock rails in your bed and set it on there to see how tall your notch is. then build your floor height from that .. cause i made my notches and they arent as tall as most ive seen so if you use my measurements it might not turn out right

Figure I might poke a little fun....you do realize you have the right side valve cover on upside, right?

Awesome build, keep up the great work

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet

thanx man!!! ur truck is a beauty!!!

i got a little bit more done
started working on my fenderwells

still gotta make the end caps then finish welding and start smoothing

put the motor in for a test fit.. everything fit great except the drivers side header is just a tad low so im gonna cut it down a lil

mmmm look at this nasty silicone disaster!!!! lol

btw the mounts are just a tubular mount kit i found on ebay.. came with the tranny crossmember to. i bolted them to the forward holes and everything looks like its gonna clear good

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet

Im thinking you may wanna keep your eye open for a set of finned or at least some nicer valve covers. With those headers and the rest of the work you have done the valve covers just look out of place. Just my.0321 cents worth.

Just wanted to say I've been watching your build and it's coming together into one sick ride. I hope you take it to a show nearby so I can see it up close when you're done!

With the frame flat on the ground the pinchwelds on mine are about 1/8"-1/4" from the ground. That is with brand new urethane body mount bushings, older broken in rubber bushings may get you closer if not touching.

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet

ya my frame is about 2 inches off the ground with 2.5 drop spindles and sitting on lower control arms.. so it wouldnt take a huge z with drop spindles.. i think most people do a 3 inch z..
