Re: Company Trucks
I'm curious about the size of the rear notch on the frame that will be bagged. I would like to go with a PB set up in my 53 Suburban but I dont want a monster notch because I would like to run the factory three rows of seating.

Thanks man. Where have you been? Call me when you can catch up on stuff.

Your project is looking good. I would say all you have to do is call Nate and he will build you what you want. I'm sure he'll take the same approach of having a mild drop set up. Not everyone likes to be all the way down low. |

69CST-V
Don't get me wrong I love them very low. The lower the better. That's the beauty of a PB set up. I'm trying to get it as low as possible and still be able to run a back seat. Marc

Re: Company Trucks
Ok friends I need your help. I'm looking for color matched patina parts for this truck. My partner wants to leave his patina to start. Let me know what you have. I would be willing to look at trading my parts for yours or purchase.

Re: Company Trucks
heck, what you need? I'd pound that dent out and the rear and run with it. I'm digging the patina on that truck. Is that a crease in the door and cowl? Looks like a shadow, but those trucks always seem to a crease in the cowl there from the door getting opened too far one way.

The door crease will work out pretty good I think. The cowl will work out but will still look rough, but its staying. Should add some character. I don't have the bed in my possession yet, but I might need a tailgate and fenders if I could find them. Anything helps at this point. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Company Trucks
I have a hood that would match, but A. I'm far away and B. I dunno if I'd want to come off it. Would consider trades maybe, but again the distance sux. That dented cowl, I have the same problem but like you said adds character. Its hard to get out without, cutting the kickpanel out from the inside and pounding it out from inside, that crease makes them really stiff.

Re: Company Trucks
I can't send pic's in a PM. So FYI distance isn't an issue. I would come pick them up. Let me know I have some parts to trade if you just want to swap or whatever deal we could make.
Let me know your thoughts. |

Re: Company Trucks
Well, here is my hood actually came off of a 3/4 ton, I don't have the emblem so not sure if thats a problem for you. Has some pitting and a little weak on the drivers side at the very top by the windshield but nothing crazy. Let me know if your interested and we can go from there. If not, no worries at all, I have a set of front fenders that are all a nice rust color that would go good with this hood, thats why I been hanging onto this.

Re: Company Trucks
looks good, but where is he putting the bags and is when that lays out its going to rest on the xmember that the link bars attach to. I'm just not grasping why that part sits about 4" below the frame. Also could be the pic, but the distance that the notch would give you, seems like the link bars will hit the stock xmember bf the axle came anywhere close to bottoming out on the notch (meaning, less notch more bed depth) Maybe I'm missing something.

I don't know all the details, but I would say the stock crossmember is there for mockup to keep things rigid and will be removed. The bags will be inboard of the frame rails and on the back side of the axle. Everything could line up as low as the bottom of the running boards, as the bottom of the frame is not the lowest point. But Nate hasn't giving me all the details only pictures. As I know more, so will you. I know he has a plan, but like any good plan changes will be made for the best result without sacrificing function or safety. How's your build coming along? |

Re: Company Trucks
yeah the quality looks great. Keep me posted. I just haven't seen a design like this before. Seems like he knows what he is doing, I'm just seeing it entirely. I do see know perhaps when its completely laid out, it would hit the bottom of the xmember he build (below the frame) maybe that is why is sticks down, because yeah the running board brackets stick down too, maybe its designed to not lay out 100% on the running boards. I'm sure it will pan out fine.
My build is behind like always, I don't have my garage done (almost though) and I need electric in it. Along with money always wedging me up, I gotta get the garage done. Im trying to have the dash done soon. Hoping to spray epoxy on it next week, then do some final touches on it. Then I gotta get high build primer and my paint of choice. Then I'll be redoing the gauges. I am also waiting to order my cam and timing gear set for my engine, so thats another 350 bucks. thanks for asking tho.

Re: Company Trucks
Well here is a worthless update, but an update none the less. I started messing around with some old sheet metal trying different things to see what I want to do on the Patina truck. Won't bore you with a bunch of useless pictures. However I would like to know any secrets on you my have. Never tried to make new things look old before.

This is the kit that will be laying the running boards on the ground. The chassis is set up to have a 5" ride height on the table (that's 5" of ground clearance between the bottom of the running board brackets and the face of the table. The lowest point on the trailing arm x-member is still a couple inches above the scrub line (which is the bottom of the running board brackets). Once the rear is dialed in and firmly tacked in place, the bulky factory x-member just behind the trailing arm xmember will be removed and replaced with a tubular version. Hoping to have that portion dialed in by the end of next week. Feel free to ask any questions as more pics start popping up. Nate

Re: Company Trucks
Nate, cool cant wait to see it unfold.
69- for fauxtina I'd say airbrushing would be the best bet, and or use atleast 3 different colors of spray paint to simulate paint and rust. Also if those are your fenders, my hood wouldn't match. Mine is just stock dark green that these trucks ran.
