Re: lets see them stepsides

Built this little 67 about 1 1/2 years ago to sell, but i changed my mine. I have enjoyed this truck more than some of my frame off trucks that i have built.
Merry Christmas

Re: lets see them stepsides

I better add mine!

It's a 69 C10 short step. I recently repainted mine after years of use, it needed to be freshened up (Ford Grabber blue) and did some mods to it.

First, some here might remember the bowtie tail lights I created into the rear fenders years ago, those remained, I just transfered those into a brand new pair of rear fenders. I did upgrade them by adding LED's.

I had a bolt on hood scoop from an S10 blazer but this time around I welded in 1969 Chevelle SS hood scoops into the existing hood (think I'm the first to do this) and I'm adding 1969 Chevelle SS side marker lights, the small rectangular ones to replace the big originals (still have to put them in but you can see the holes for them) I have a fresh 454 .30 over on the stand just waiting to go in when the warm weather gets here. Other plans are a TH400 and put in the original type wood floor with stainless strips.

I drive it about every other day and it's a true friend.

Shown below just after painting, still needs wet sanded and buffed out but you get the idea:

you should get some CLR and a green brilo pad and rub the truck down it gives any truck some really really really nice patina all that really bad rust will look good

Re: lets see them stepsides

Yea Keith (N-2Billet) emailed me some information on the CLR method about a year ago. Im just enjoying driving at this time. After i sell the satin black 72 i plan on installing air, painting inside and dropping it. Im trying to get the rear fender without the spare patinaed some more before i install it. N2Billet is tired of looking at it with the ugly fender.

Re: lets see them stepsides

I will get some pictures and some specs together when i get home in a little while. I have been wanting to do a build thread on both trucks, but almost 900 hrs OT this year at work puts a little dent in my evening couch time. Thanks for the coments.

Re: lets see them stepsides

Hey everyone,
New to the site, but I thought I'd show one of my toys. Frame off rebuild last year. My dad bought it new in '69. Originally 292 six, green and white. Now, '79 'vette engine, original 12 bolt 411, and three on the column. No power steering or brakes, sometimes a handful to drive, but always a lot of fun!!!
Thanks for having us...

Re: lets see them stepsides

This is also my first post..... I have been a long time lurker , but just recently bought another 68. Looks like I'm just down the road from you SC C-10....

I bought it as a roller a couple months ago. I was waiting till after X-mas to get started on it. As of right now the plans are installing an LQ4 / T56. I already have the trans . Now I'm just looking for the right deal on the 6.0 .
I picked up a set of 20x10 and 20x8.5 Boss 338's a couple weeks ago. I don't have any updated pics of them on the truck yet. After I get the motor and trans installed , I plan on putting air ride on it. Anyway, here are a few pics of my junk.

The seat is an early 90's Chevrolet truck seat. The door panels, I have no idea.If I keep the truck long enough I'm changing all the brown to black.

Re: lets see them stepsides

Thanks for the info, did you have to do much to make them fit? and do they sit good? I'm looking to do something with my stock recovered seat as i can't get it to move back for more room.

They sit ok . I'm not the biggest fan of them. They looks narrow , but feel ok while driving. Mounting is easy. If i do end up going with the T56 , its coming out in favor of buckets.
