Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

I did get the doors hung recently. I'll try to get some pics up showing that. It's been pretty slow going on this project as we have been working on wifey's Nova, getting ready for Cruisin the Coast !

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

sweet build, (no better color than black)

I would love to see pics of the bed mocked up with both sized rear MT's if you have.
I bought the 29"x15"x20" last year but have not been able to see them in the wheel wells since it took 9 months for my wheels to get here.

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

Hey guys, progress has been pretty slow the last month. Color sanding on the cab and doors is pretty much done. I also installed the cab divider molding. It polished out pretty nicely, as you can see a "before and after" in the pic.

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

Very nice looking build so far with lots of meticulous attention to the details! With regards to your 68-71 big block engine towers, where did you find the rubber mounts? Thanks!

unfortunately, I haven't touched it in a few months! Been swamped with other projects lately and the time just hasn't been there ! Hopefully, I'll jump back into this project before too long ! Thanks for inquiring !

The rubber mounts are for a small block chevy . I machined a large stepped washer to fit the hole in the tower and they work great together ! I got this idea from board member TX Firefighter a few years ago ! I can try to locate the part # on the rubber mounts if you'd like !

Hi Chris,
Thanks very much for the information on the mount system you're using; I'm really looking for the OEM-style big block mounts. Thanks again!
