Re: Project Ru5tyNut5
well, I have the spindles in my garage which are 2.5", that should be close to setting my crossmember on the ground. After that I'll have to Z the frame to get it to sit level.

charlies drop shop in portland has 2'' lower control arms for about $300 bucks. that would get you another 4.5" drop.

I won't deal with The Drop Shop anymore and you can find them online for pretty good prices.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5
She saw her first show action today, I put her in the "Best truck" class although I knew of course that I had no chance. There wasn't really a "Piece of ****" class so I was screwed from the beginning. Had some rain this morning but nothing too bad

it's raining pretty good tonight so she had to stay in the stable, figured I might as well paint something so I'm looking for parts easily paintable.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5
Awesome work man. Flat Black is way better looking in my humble opinion. I split the diff and went satin black. Before and after pics. Ignore the dirty air cleaner. That was just for the photo op. LOL

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5
Surface rust is fine but real rust sucks. Down the road I'm sure your long term goal is to have a cherry truck. On my 64 I've been patching the rusted out spots but then repainting the spots, not to look new but to look kinda old. After I get all the rust taken care of then I'll paint it for real. Until then I just want it to look like a old truck, with some surface rust.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5
I'm digging the after pic, even your before pic looks better than mine I need to do some stuff under the hood of mine as far as painting all the brackets and whatnot but everything under there scares the **** out of me. I can build stuff and whatnot but I don't know crap about engines. I need to take the A/C stuff off and get rid of the big A/C box so it doesn't sit on my tire when I put my spindles on. Anyhow, I'm sure you had so much fun painting up your engine that you want to do it again right? why don't we just trade and you can start over....
