Yes, the frame has to have c-notches welded in for R&P clearance. Later model a-arms (73-87) arms can be used (or Porterbuilt/Ride Tech style tubular arms) & stock or dropped spindles w/factory brakes.

The older DM's would work w/the pre-73 a-arms w/some modifications. His newer versions need the post-73 arms because of the style of bushings & how they mount.

I'm not sure on your brakeline question. I'm using 73-80 style lines w/some tweaks on mine.

Re: Dropmembered trucks

I just fabricated new lines for the front brakes. Alot easier than trying to make your 40+ year old lines work. (my opinion)

Re: Dropmembered trucks

You can do it Drew. If your not a welder, just take it to a welding shop and have the notches welded in. Or get in the texas section. Lots of good guys I've met down there could probably help you out.

I dont have the PB, but the SD raised crossmember, and I will tell you that Nate is a very stand up guy and will make sure that you are running everything right. He's helped me out a lot even though I've never bought anything from him.

Drew, Moline moved his factory cross-member up. His whole post is in reference to modding his stock parts and drop springs as an alternative to the dropmember. It solves the problems of getting low and investing time in place of money but not sure if it would correct the steering box issues or bump steer that are the real benefits to Nate's piece.

Josh
and to be fair and disclose- Hell yeah, I rock a dropmember.

I do too, I Zed my frame and sectioned my crossmember myself so I know I can do it. I ordered a Dropmember myself because Nathan can do it better than I can

Re: Dropmembered trucks

Here's a couple of mine. Still have to cut some stuff off the bottom of the frame to lay it all the way out.
