It's gonna be a real hard act to keep that quality level on the rest of the build, But I am gaining a great confidence level!
This will probably end up making mine look somewhat shade-tree!!
This is gonna be a great build to watch, and progress!!!
Great work/foresight!
Thanks man.....I have confidence in the guys doing the work!!

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop

Things are really starting to pick up....got all the holes in the firewall welded up, body worked and in first prime, Porterbuilt hinges installed, got the chassis put back together and the engine and tranny installed as well as the rear end. I also had Joel from full blown paint stop while we have the body off to lay down some pin striping and do some detail work on the intake. Enjoy!!!!

Chris...Just went through your whole thread. Absolutely great job. Looks very nice. Or SICK as most would say. Keep up the great work and look forward to watching for the rest of the build. I subscribed to your build. I have many pictures of my 86 Silverado but just tore it down and at Chads for blasting. Ordered all PB components. I will soon start a build tread myself. Meanwhile keep the pictures and progress coming! Tony Knight

Hey Chris,

I was wondering if you might know of anyone "local" to me or you that does media (soda) blasting? I need to get some sheet metal clean on a 48 model truck, and it has heavy undercoating on the backside of the fenders. Any info would be appreciated. I can't wait to see some updated pics of your truck too!
I'm a 67-72 guy....... but builds like this one are driving me to want a 60-66 SWB BBW.

Thanks, Wade

Look up Extreme Liners & Customs in Gonzales, LA...he has a guy that does it but uses a special type of media that doesn't cause any damage to the panels. He was super cheap too.

[QUOTE=severedchris;5727275]

This is definitely a budget build I wanna stay with a period correct look, All deluxe trim and emblems, HRF satin charcoal w/all red interior, may go with some steelies, or nostalgic set of 20s such as Coys or AR Torque Thrusts...this will definitely be a cruiser.

What happened to your budget build?? lol There is nothing budget about what I am seeing here man. !!!

Haha....I kinda got carried away....the more I got into the truck the more I liked it....then my uncle passed away and I decided to build it in his memory and go all out.

thanks Modge....yes a ton of work..lol. But I wanted to do something that I hadn't seen yet and was on the fence on whether to use the bed kit I had or do a sheet metal floor....so this is what I came up with. I will be posting some more pics soon!!!

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop

Got the Flex A Lite Trans Cooler and the A/C Condenser and Dryer mocked up in place

mad dash pic....this is just a few days before we left for SEMA

went with a Lokar Nostalgia Floor Shifter

getting the motor ready to fire

went with these cool little controls that Vintage Air Offers

Got the windows in.....this was no easy task

This was one of the best investments I made......by far....I advise anyone to annie up and get this kit from totally stainless

hanging of the sheetmetal

access panel that we came up with for the fuel tank area

Seat was done by LB Upholstery in Wilmer LA.....he does mostly street rod stuff, but Ive gotten him to do every one of my trucks...hes the best in our area

Got the Jute pad laid down

elevel touchpad installed in the arm rest.....I had the Upholstery shop install a ChickenCityHotRods touchpad panel in the foam and then cover over it

Had Joe Vincent of VincentDesigns in Baton Rouge do up a little memorial piece for my Uncle Sherman....he passed away not long after I returned home from deployment...he meant a lot to me and he is probably most responsible for my obsession with all things automotive

Couldn't resist laying it out and just sitting the bumper up there to see what it would look like....

Got the trim on.....this just makes these trucks if you ask me

this was about 3am a few days before sema...lol

first time we sat the bed on....I almost messed my pants
