A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

Re: Project 91 Bsquared

Todays journey left me dead in the middle of the intersection. Called a tow truck to take me to a real mechanic.

Doh. May the repair be fast and cheap or a herd of camels poop in the mechanics toolbox!

Re: Project 91 Bsquared

Well man, with any luck it is one little wire, or on vacuum line bad, or some sensor ... something easy but difficult for a home mechanic to trouble shoot.

I know my body man could probably go the rest of his life w/out working on another GM 87-95 TBI engine. Where he was dorking around on mine for probably 2 weeks, took a mechanic who was well versed in these era trucks under 3 hours to finish.

Re: Project 91 Bsquared

The Burb is running, I'm out of town so wifey had to talk to mechanic lol. Fixed some loose wires, adjusted timing, fixed the vent and blower motor but might have an ac leak. Exhaust is next on the list.

Sounds easy enough, I was worried. You'll be back on the road with her soon then it sounds.

Re: Project 91 Bsquared

I havent driven it but the mechanic said he ran it at the shop for 30min with no issues then he took around the block a few times and then he adjusted the timing. Since I couldn't go faster then 45mph.
He wanted to charge me $135 for 3lbs of free on and coulndt guaranty it wouldn't have a leak since "its an old truck"
