Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

I really scored on that parts truck, the bonus was this door. I stripped it, welded up the extra mirror holes and ready for some primer.

I used both, some welds you can get with a small drill bit, some you need the spot weld cutter. This roof panel was rust free , none around the edges at all. I really lucked out and I only had to drive for 15 mins to get it.

Its all about "beer can" chicken and a "rooter"! Pigs just happen to be an item that can be shot year round here! Can't wait to see how your build turns out!

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

Popped off that piece of junk repop rocker and put the NOS one I bought on. I can't even state how much better original GM parts are, it actually fits. Also started to weld up a piece to the repop floor to make up the gap in the rocker. If left there would be a 1/2" hole to the inside of the rocker panel, why they didn't just make the piece properly is beyond me. Also found that when fixing holes in doors or whatever it maybe, it is easier to drill the spot out past where the metal is pooched up and just put a plug in there and weld it up.

Looks like you got the roof together, it's AMAZING how much quieter it is when you hit it with your hand on top!

It's done, I am just cleaning up the welds, then going to strip it and primer the whole cab again.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

looks really good, question did you use the nuts to hole down the skin when you welded it in, or are they just up there?? just wondering cause they look to find in the lip groove pretty good!

Frame porn, changed my valve covers over so they were on the correct side also. I ordered up an aluminized exhaust system so it should be here late this week and on it goes.

That looks awesome. Hopefully I will have my frame looking similar by the end of the year.

Curious to know where you ordered your stock exhaust parts from. Thanks.
