Drove it!
Like I do every day. Not much to look at, but it puts a smile on my face every time I get in it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
This is the part that I fixed. Now I just gotta do the patch on the top part of the hood. I also moved my motor and all my junk from one place to another a few days ago aswell as picked up some pistons and a good crank for it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Went out a while ago planning on welding up the hood. Ended up grabbing my brand new Kafka brush and laying down some lines. Not centered too well but just playing getting some ideas for what I want to do.

I would rather cut them out of my yard than out of my living room after a hurricane. Some were diseased and the pine sap was hurting the paint jobs on the vehichles. The wood will be milled into #2 pine and the trees will be replaced with more trees native to Florida.

I like the artwork too. Every striper has to start somewhere. The farthest I ever got was striping the wheels on my 46 Ford sedan.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Not today but this week.
wed. i had my brockman glasspacks installed, could only afford to dump before the axle for now. thursday i installed my correct rear bumper, license plate and autozone tag light. friday i wired up my front parking lamps to become turn indicators as well. Saturday i bought a 3/4 inch sheet of birch plywood for the bed, frustrating though since i couldnt cut the edge that goes under the angle bars but a rubber mallet and some pliers to bend the up helped out a bit.i also coulnt find any one to help lift the bed so i packed it all up. i also wired up a relay for the power windows but then my switch went out messing with the windows and i killed about 4 precious hours testing the window and that turned into a mess and i was able to put it all back together. still closer than before. today i wired the tail lights and tied it all up to look neat and not hang all over the place. had to cut it short since my lady was starting to get tired of waiting for me to clean up and take them somewhere....you know exactly how it is. Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I have been cutting out old metal on customer's big window cab and waiting for some cab corners, so I start putting it back together, maybe starting tomorrow.
Degreased the engine bay of the white '64 GMC truck. The new owner is picking it up in two weeks, so I wanted to get it dialed-in. I also got the green '64 Chevy C20 ready for a customer to look at...he ended up driving it away with title and Bill of Sale in hand. Picked up the balance of my painted sheet metal from the painter yesterday. It is looking good hanging on OLRED66...my '66 Chevy C20 Custom Camper. I love these trucks and I am looking for a new project, so if you have a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC truck you would like restored, please keep me in mind. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Hi Jake, I remember!! Are you going to wait and have everything painted at once, or paint the pieces as the prep gets completed?

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Watched it snow and wished I had a bigger shop. E-bay treasures arrived today. I bought a '64 wiper motor for $1.25 + 9.00 shipping Going Elk hunting this weekend in the snow. I must be crazy.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Well yesterday I played around some with the truck.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=361556&page=2 Tonite I replaced the rotor, replaced the alternator since my pretty chrome one was bad, went ahead and swithced out the Edelbrock for a Holley and finished breaking in the cam on the 283. Man she sure does sound good. |
