Re: 64 c10 build
I finish fixing rust and I find more.. I had some rot/damage under the gas filler hole and rot under the drip rail on the driver side. I’m replacing the door skins now that the door bottoms are done. We wet blasted and wire wheeled the inside of the doors and primed ... Now I can put Hushmat the inside of the doors before installing the skins.

Re: 64 c10 build
Who made your instrument cluster? Are you running any wheel adapters on front or rear? Reason I ask is mine will be on bags and I'm wondering how close it'll be to the fenders on front and rear. Looked close in the pic you posted on page 2 (I think it was page 2).

My cluster is a Dakota Digital! I'm not running wheels spacers on the front and it measures about 1 1/2 from the tire to the inside lip of the fender. The rear has to have a small spacer because of the center bore. After everything I've decided to not use the 1 1/2 spacer in that pic.. I was gonna use a 1 1/4 spacer but I think the tire will hit the inner lip of the bed where the inner fender mounts. I'll have to measure it again when I get the bed back from paint but I think a 1/4" spacer will be best.

Re: 64 c10 build
I have heard of some using a 1/4" spacer with longer studs and others opening the center bore up using a CNC machine to open the bore some. Not sure which route I'll go yet. When you say using 1 1/4" spacer the tire may hit where bed and inner fender mount you mean towards the outside of the tire or inside of the tire? I'm not sure about using a spacer on an already heavy wheels. Probably try to find a machine shop to open it up...???
Thanks, Wade |

Re: 64 c10 build
please explain what you did! I read that you used the letters, what gauge metal did you use to fill the rest of the gate? I like that a lot an might have to steal that idea for a future project, but put it on the other side, I got two extra gates to cut up

Re: 64 c10 build
Not much progress on my build. I took some time off to build a 64 c10 bed for my 13 year old daughters birthday, that's what the custom c10 tailgate was for. I got my Vintage Air A/C unit and didn't like the under dash vents so I decided to go with the factory looking vent and cut my dash even though I guess my truck being a 64 wouldn't of had that option. I also got the Dakota Digital Climate Controller to match my dash cluster and got the dash vent and side vents from Jim!

Re: 64 c10 build
And... I got another c10 introducing the "BEATER". It's just a shop truck for now. It's fun to drive around. We drove it last weekend in the local Bluemoon hot rod cruise.
