Damn, I really need to get a 67-68' Fleetside! Your truck looks awesome, even have me thinking about selling my 61' Impala Bubbletop 409, to find one!

They won't be ready until next week. According to the email Keith sent- .... the wheels came in today.....I'm dropping them off this weekend to be mounted and should get this early next week (we have four sets that need mounting so it's going to take some time....

Personally I don't want to see them. I just know it's going to cost me some $$$$.

Scoti, if I make a move you get first dibs...

Re: n2billet's project 68 "Extreme Makeover" hot rod style

Made some Progress today.

I got the wheels and tires on, I'm going to modify the bed so I can get it to go just a little lower. I also installed the exhaust manifold so I can figure out what tubes I need to order so I can make my exhaust. I got what I think is what's left of the parts that need to be painted, prepped and ready to shoot. I also prined the intake so it will be ready to block and paint red with the other pieces. I also started modifying the oil filter cover so it would fit, I still need to do a few things before it's finished. I'm still plugging along......

Looks good. The wheels look like the fit is perfect. Spacers or no?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: n2billet's project 68 "Extreme Makeover" hot rod style

Got up early this morning and got some booth time in. I think this is all the black stuff that needed painted. In between coats I sanded the intake, it's almost ready to paint so I should have all the red stuff painted next week....

I'll try to get some before it gets blown apart. We're putting big brakes, bigger wheels and tires, detailing the motor and doing a custom interior (the picture is the dash that's been re-done and now is in final prime).

Is that the stock cast iron exhaust manifold? If so, what method did you use to get it that shiney? Is it coated with anything to prevent rust? It really looks trick!

It's coated heavily in 'elbow grease' . . ......

N2billet grinds until he almost sees daylight & then stops. It's a dirty job but when you finish, it sure looks good.

Re: n2billet's project 68 "Extreme Makeover" hot rod style

I've been wanting to build a 67-68' SWB fleetside for sometime now, this thread has done me in! I've put my 61' Impala Bubbletop 409 up for sale, and the search is now on! n2billet, that truck is just sick man! SICK!

Hhmmmm..... bubble-top..... 68..... bubble-top..... 67..... bu.....

I don't know if the scales will tip that far. A 61 on air & some 20's would sure look sweet. Got any pics?
