Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Yes or? It has to be, otherwise it's not right. If things go well, the cab will be on the frame next week, that will be a great moment.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
My Plan worked, mounted Springs and Shocks on the Rear Axle, bolted on Wheels and put the Frame on the ground. Everything cleaned up and the Cab with the Engine Jack placed on the Frame, everything went very easily. After 17 Months, the Frame and Cab are reunited.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Hi Harald, that is a great truck! You've done such a nice job of fixing all of the rust. You are very careful with the details and it makes it fun to look at your work. How did you get interested in American cars and trucks?

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Thanks for the words, I'll try my best, it should be fun for us afterwards, it's still a long way to the 1st start.
There is a large US car community in Germany and in Europe in general, you get in touch at car shows everywhere. Our 1st US car was a 1974 GMC G20 Sportsvan in 1989. It stayed for 2 years, it wasn't until 2014 that a 1968 Ford Mustang came to us, I gradually repaired and improved it and now by chance the '62 Chevy C10 came to us, which needed a lot of affection, it gets it from me. Now there's a 30/31 Model A Coupe that's next in line, they're all great vintage cars that have a great story to tell and they all have great parts supply.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
The Doors are now installed again, Doorstops from the Jeep installed, they have 2 locking points and fit plug in play, the Door seals are drawn in, are from the 3-door Honda Civic Hatchback Bj 2008 and fit perfectly. Thanks to the forum for the Great Tips. The Doors snap in nice and soft.
On front the Cab, new longer Bolts onto the frame, which were included in the Set, are too short. Installed window on driver's side. Lots of little things where the hours seep away.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
It continued with the assembly of the cabin, the pedal bracket is reinstalled, the doors are complete, the cabin is insulated, the brake booster is in place, the master brake cylinder is replaced, the PO installed one for 4 disc brakes, but it is a disc/drum.
Built-in stereo speakers in the dash, is then operated with a small Bluetooth amplifier. The DeLuxe heating is installed, radio for optics, but installed without function. The kick panel vents are also installed.... it will.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Harald,
Did you get the door seals in Europe or from the States. I want to use the same in Woody but so far have failed to find a source close to home - my local Honda dealer won't order them for me and a lot of the Ebay and amazon sellers won't ship to the UK. Love the colour combo. Well done. P.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
I found them on Ebay Germany. The 3 door hatchback is rare, currently only the 5 door is listed.
If you find door seals and they don't want to ship to England, you can also have them sent to me and I would then send them on, but a package up to 5kg costs €26.90 with DHL. As an idea

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Thanks Harald!
I have family in the States so can get parts shipped to them to send over - its just a bit of a hassle. If you see another pair of weatherstrips on German eBay - let me know! Had a look now but cant see any. However, my German is not as good as your English, so probably would have been looking for coats for a sausage dog for all I know! P.

It is only the written word that is understandable. A conversation between us would be fun for you, from what I say.
If I find anything I can let you know.

Russian chat is via Google Translate app, but when Vladimir writes up reports on his builds in English a rusted sill plate becomes a broken threshold. Conversely, Stanislav in Siberia is 100% fluent in English, grammatically he outdoes 80% of English speakers straight from his knowledge of English, no translator here, and I speak English with him on WhatsApp. My Russian is super limited. Sometimes I am sorry for the loss of impact in translation. With English as my second language, even explained, the impact of stuff is often lost. Thankfully we still can chat.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
The Easter days are over, we continue with the C10, a New Carpet was laid and fitted and the Sillplate was mounted, the Insulation was attached to the Firewall, the Fuel Tank and the Seat Belts were Installed.
The Door Panels are back in Place. I installed my inner Door Handle the way I removed it, is it pointing the right way around?

Here is a picture from the 1962 Chevrolet Truck catalog - the handles have an angle to them.
