That's one of the prettiest things I've ever seen, and I usually don't go for the dropped look. The bamboo bed is awesome.

Re: Simple Green

Thanks man ^

So I took out the seat and carpet and installed a layer of Fat Mat and I am installing a iPod/iPhone only stereo. I'm using a iPod direct plug RCA's with charging so I can listen to mp3's or pandora without my phone going dead. I'm using a PAC LC-1 line level for volume control hooked up to a small 200w amp going to some pioneer ts-x200 enclosed reflex speakers under the seat. It should sound ok for some basic driving tunes. I'll put up more pics when done.

Re: Simple Green

Let us know how the PAC LC-1 line level works out. I was planning on doing something similar with my setup but using this http://http://www.jlaudio.com/cl441d...egration-98110 so I can switch between my phone and small xm unit hidden behind the ashtray door on the dash.

But if I can go the route youre going and maybe tie in a manual component switch under the dash and the sound quality is good it will save me a bunch of money.

Re: Simple Green

I was wondering what happened to the pics, I was looking back at your original thread for reference on the tear down of the rear end. Just wanted to give you props on your build and say thanks for the inspiration. Your truck set the benchmark in my book and is one of the reasons I am building mine now. I just finished the "KILL RIVETS" phase waiting on my complete kit from Porterbuilt. Again can't say enough about this forum and the great members. I will be starting my build thread soon as I get my parts hope you'll tag along for advice..

Thanks again!!

Re: Simple Green

I got the idea from a guy on the hamb forum, he had good results with the setup. Here is a pic he had were he used a single dual voice coil speaker for an original dash mount single.

Re: Simple Green

I have seen that done on early VW's as well.

It works well to break up the road noise.

Plenty loud with the advances in audio component materials and technology.

Re: Simple Green

I want to try something like that in mine. I'm just afraid it won't be loud enough because my truck is LOUD. I want to mount the amps and smaller speakers under the dash and 2 subs under the bench.

Re: Simple Green

Kicker makes a cool little setup like that with a iPod remote. So you can stash your iPhone/iPod in the glovebox or under seat. The model is PXi50x2.

It's in the news update on kicker.com headline is "amplified controller for iPhone/iPod"

Re: Simple Green

Sounds pretty good and I like the simplicity of it. How is the bass outta those speakers? A lot of the music I listen to is bass heavy (metal and stoner rock, not hippity hop) so I need something with some punch.

Re: Simple Green

Thanks. I wouldn't say it's hard hitting bass but more of a strong mid range thump.
