Well it's all done. Took 8 days to run-drive then another 2 weeks to finish the paint work. Now on to the next one.

Any firewall modification on this one? It looks like the engine is sitting pretty far back.

Re: 72 suburban with a duramax (the build)

No fire wall mods. Bought the truck in phonix last August flew down and drove it home. While we were there did some shoping and bought a short bed and hauled it home. Couldn't decide what to do to it so looked around the shop and shed for parts and did the cummins nv4500 treatment. Used a Hyd clutch pedal from 87 Chevy Truck. Engine is 150000 mile from 95 dodge. Truck still needs a gear change in the rear (4:10) I will try and get more pics up on it. Thanks for looking.

Re: 72 suburban with a duramax (the build)

I'm starting a new project. A LB7 and ZF6 in my 68 K20. Can you please tell me if Dakoka digital gauges will work? If not can you point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Re: 72 suburban with a duramax (the build)

I just got my LB7 back from the machine shop. I have the complete 2002 donor truck and most people are telling me to just put my '68 body on the '02 chassis. This is a 4x4. I really love how clean you swap looks on the factory frame with the factory radiator support. This is direction id rather go. Can you please give some tips on engine mounts, and cross members? How did you decide on how far forward and back to place the engine and how high or low? Is the radiator support in the factory location? i apologize if you've already answered these questions.
