Thanks Ryan! I will. I'm starting to see a glimpse of light at the end of a very long tunnel.

Thanks man! I sure am, I'm saving up for some 37" hummer tires to throw on them right now though.

Sweet truck, I dig the covers! Where do you go for trails around here? Devils Den used to be awesome but now that it got shut down idk where to go near by, I might be up for some mild trails once I get this thing done but no major rock crawling or anything like that.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue

clines ranch is really mild. hidden falls is a little bit of everything. but as for legal public wheelin, we got nothin. you gotta know somebody who will let you wheel on their property.

im sure out by you somebody has a couple acres with a couple good trails.

Yeah that's pretty much what I figured, maybe I'll make some trips to NM/AZ some day for vacation.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue

You know after I saw your progress pics the other day, it reminded me that my brother's K20 has been sitting at the body shop now for 4 years. It was nearly ready to paint, but the dipchit body guy pushed it out and it's been sitting under a tarp since. My Dad and I were talking about this truck today and I told him we'll probabaly have to redo the body work, and repaint the frame due to it sitting out so dang long. I'm going to have to just go get it and find time this winter (hopefully) to do something to it. Poor truck.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue

This is a great project. Everything you had done from the frame cleanup and paint to the axles is what I was wishing to do to mine. Not to mention the excellent way the cab is looking now, like fresh from the factory. This wip is a great inspiration for anyone bringing back their old truck. I will refer back to the pictures over and over I can tell you. Keep up the great work.

That sucks, it seems that happens a lot though with body shops. This isn't the one you put the 12v in with the 36" hummer tires is it?

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue

This is an awesome build! I love those wide 16.5"s! What did you get them off of? That thing will look good with some military 37s.

Thanks! Two of them were on this truck when I first got it and two of them were on my stepbrothers 86 C2500 and my spare I got from a friend. Three are ford wheels and two are chevy both with different offsets, I have to swap out the two ford ones with another pair I have because one is bent. I'd like to sand blast and powder coat them while there off before I switch to 37s also.

Thanks man, yeah I need to finish this thing. The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer so I should have a little more time to work on stuff.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue

Sadly no. I do have a 76 front clip for it that will be going on it now and in the past month or so I've decided that it will no longer be getting a 350/sm465 back between the framerails. It's taken a lot of thought but it needs a 12v. I was thinking a ve engine would be a good fit but I'm trying to work out a deal with a p-pump engine right now. If that comes through that's what it'll get. I have enough nv4500s I've acquired that I can put one together for it as well. Hopefully this next year I can finally get back it now that I have a new plan set for it and a nice shop to work on it in.
