Re: My winter project
I found out that truck bed liner will come off the the hatch with a little heat, prying and pulling but fairly easy to remove. I was also surprised the hatch was in pretty good shape.

Re: My winter project
Well after rolling around on my back scraping, grinding, and sanding the underside of the tub and frame it's time to paint. I used a roll-on satin black on the underside of the tub and can spray the frame. Trans and transfer case ready to go back in.

Painted under side of the tub and frame, for a driver truck what do you think white or black firewall?

Moving to engine stuff, looks pretty clean inside but a previous rebuild had the cam break in fail. Need to get to the machine shop.

Re: My winter project
Yes it does thanks and very nice, any reason you didn't paint the under side of the hood white?

Re: My winter project
Thank you, and glad it helped. No particular reason that I recall, but I think would look nice as well.

Thanks guys, I know it's a yawning build and nothing like some of the members have done but I'll keep playing.

Re: My winter project
I have the engine back from the machine shop and will to start cleaning the outside stuff for some paint. I did stumble on this steering wheel and shiftier to replace the custom wheel and late model shiftier that I have now.

Re: My winter project
Starting to put these back where they go. I'll clean the outside engine for some paint and I'll be ready for the next move.

Re: My winter project
I've started some motor assembly and have a question, the exhaust manifold is very close to the starter and previous exhaust shop made it work by sizing the pipe to fit around the starter, should I change to different manifold before I break in.
Thanks 7D2N

Re: My winter project
Your Blazer would have come with straight dump manifolds. I believe the correct casting for 1972 is 3989036

Re: My winter project
Thanks Jack B, the engine is not original to the blazer but 1970 block. I'll look for some straight down type.
thanks again, 7D2N

Re: My winter project
I could use some help or info if I may. I have my motor on the run stand and plan to start soon, question is should I fill the trans and transfer case with fluids until I put the engine in?
Thanks 7D2N
