Re: LS swap for my 75
He's local. I got it all button up and the angles were off. So I put a inch spacer on the t case. Hopefully I won't have any vibrations

Re: LS swap for my 75
Ahhhh.....the joys of driveline vibration! Hopefully that will fix it. Be sure to use good quality bolts rather than just using the factory ones. Better strength.

Re: LS swap for my 75
For non-CV drivelines (what you have I believe), you want the t-case angle, and the axle pinion angle, parallel to one another.
In other words, if the t-case is down 4 degrees from horizontal, you want your axle pinion pointing up 4 degrees from horizontal.

Re: LS swap for my 75
Yeah so I used a app on my phone to measure the angles and it was way off lol turned out I was only 3 degrees difference minus the spacers. 7 up front 19 in the middle and 10 in the rear. Spent all day lowering it, moving the shifter linkage, then some how the rod on my column for the key came out so I gotta fix that now. I really miss driving her

Re: LS swap for my 75
I'll check mine in the morning and see how it compares but that does look a little close. How long are the mufflers and how close is the end of the muffler to the rear axle? If they're long mufflers he may not have had much choice.

Re: LS swap for my 75
Super 44's are relatively small iirc, maybe 14 or 16" case. I'll check it against mine in the morning. First guess is the mid-pipes were cut a bit short but we'll see.

Re: LS swap for my 75
I dunno why they put them there, I had to look to verify but there's plenty of room to keep them away from the xfer case. Here's mine for reference and it has 14" mufflers.

Re: LS swap for my 75
It's hard to say, it might run till the end of time with no issues. Here's how I'd approach it. If it adds heat to the xfer case right there the tailshaft seal will take the brunt of it and if that fails you've got the possibility of transmission fluid getting on the mufflers. Now you're up to potential fire hazard/burning your truck down etc. I would want them to move the mufflers back. Is this a shop you've used before?

Re: LS swap for my 75
I've used this shop before there pretty reputable. I called them this morning he said because the flowmaster is a high flowing muffler it doesn't trap much heat and it would be ok. so I guess i'll roll the dice and see what happens LOL

Re: LS swap for my 75
when I first fired her up I wasn't happy with the exhaust. sounded to weak but after running for about 15 minutes the sound changed. going to try to make time in the next few days to get the other stuff fixed. after that I'm going to satin black the whole truck just to match the old new fenders I put up front

Re: LS swap for my 75
for awhile there I was saying I should have just kept the 350 screw this LS swap crap. well I would like to retract my previous statement LOL I finally got to drive her yesterday and I gotta say the power is amazing. wow its a huge difference night and day. I have a few bugs to work out but I'm pretty happy so far. I'm going to start looking into a code reader just in case cause I pretty sure i'll be doing another soon

Not happy with the exhaust not as loud and aggressive as it was with the 350. Running flowmasters with 2 1/2 pipe
