BUTTHEAD !!!! Lucky for you I still need your help, so I will keep my mouth shut.

OK, OK FAT MIKE I'll post something. They are not interesting photos as this other stuff being posted of other folks projects, but it's stuff that's important to me. A lot of the stuff you won't be able to see when I'm done. However I will post some pictures of some awesome trucks I saw at the 2011 Grand National Roadster Show. Folks might tell me, I can't get to that level but I sure am gonna try. I'm not talking trailer queens just a nicely done up truck. The trucks I saw were drivers and show quality.

Some repeat pictures and new pictures of the left front fenderwell. I inverted a hump in order to hide wires coming out of the firewall. It was easier then undoing the wires and relocating them. I want my fire wall and fender wells to be naked of all wires. No where near done have a lot of mock up work then take stuff back apart to be sure everything works and fits before it's painted.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

This is what the left front fender well will look like when mounted in place. The hump was just enough to hide the ugly coming out of the firewall.

I did have to relocate the dimmer switch to the out board side/ tire side of the fender well. And yes I have something to protect the switch and wires from grit and grime thrown off the tire while rolling down the road.

There use to be an oval shape rubber insert that mounted on the floor with two holes for the hydro-matic gear shift column and the steering column, it did not fit after replacing the up dated steering column and I used a sole of a thong. Yeah it aint pretty but the carpet will cover it up.

Yeah yeah, I will post some more detail shots but check out this gorgeous '59 or is it a '58.

The last shot is my GMC in the back ground and my friends bikes a while back before I started this current tear down. He builds some awesome stuff out of his garage, he calls it Backhouse Customs.

That's pretty cool how you hid your wires.
I went to the 2011 show also. There were a lot of cool trucks and cars there.

Thanks Kim57. OHHH MAN I think my favorite truck of the show was that midnite blue Cameo. I'll post the pictures up here later. I felt like a kid in the candy store don't know which one to take home so many nice trucks, lol. Some didn't have the best paint or were under construction but I liked them all.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

Stripped my hood down and welded the rear section hood brace so I can get rid of the X- bar rods/ brace. Some people use 3M Panel Bond between the hood and the the rear cross member / brace. I welded mine. Now when the hood closes it does not wiggle side to side, which happens when you try to close it with out that X-bar support. I'll post more pics later of what I am talking about.

I didn't want to spend the money on the Panel Bond applicator gun or drive the 7 miles to the paint and body supply shop so I just welded it. Here a clip from You Tube on Panel Bond

Not very interesting stuff to look at but did some work to the dash and will later strip the inside of the cab down to get ready for paint after the lower hinge pocket on drivers side and cab corners are replaced. The first picture is after the 1st time the interior was done. I could have left it alone but I am going to paint the truck orange and I want the interior metal and engine compartment and under-side of the hood to all be the same color as the rest of the truck.

KOOL Cameos at 2011 Grand National Roadster Show. I can't really see it but a guy detailing the truck after the show said that 2 inches was taken out of the hood when they pancaked it. I gues I need some new Coke bottles my eyes aint what they use to be.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

I was asked what was going on with the T-Bird in my avatar so here are a few pics of it. And Fat Mike I also included a pic of Kabwe helping me install the engine. The Bird belongs to a friend of the family and because of the high cost involved it was only a partial restoration. It should have been a complete frame off resto. Lots of people don't understand that when you got a car or truck that age and it's been sitting up for 24 years not driven and not maintained, be prepared to get up off of some Mula $$$$ to get it going. I did the best that I could but it needed so much more done to it. Maybe because I have been too busy comparing it to the show quality T-Birds I feel it should have been a complete resto. The motor had a locked up cylinder because of a blown head gasket and the water leaked in and after 24 years of sitting it just rusted/welded sort of kind the piston rings to the cyl. walls.

A wicked looking '59 at the the 2011 Grand National Roadster Show. You gotta see it in person these pictures don't do it justice. However the Mid-nite Blue '55 Cameo that I posted a few pictures back was my favorite. It was something about the Cameo that made it POP a 'Lil more then this '59
