Ya me too, I build other project mostly year round and have to make them all a bit different to make them extra cool and fit the owner too. Have to really sit back and think some times, even come up with a lot of cool stuff when dreaming at night, yep a bit obsessive, nothing like hotrodding, it's a life style.

I worked 6 hrs at work this morning. We had off but we are so busy so that I worked some. Then came home and finished up the back brakes. The only thing I have to do now is change the residual valve to a 2 pound one and bleed the brakes. I have the emergency cables mounted but have to mount my pedal and figure out where to route the cables. Then the brakes will be totally done. It will feel good to have them done. I should soon be able to put it back down on the ground soon. Then the wipers and some metal work around the windshield and cowl vent. I filled it already but do not like the way I did it , so like so many other things I will redo it to my liking now. I hate redoing things!

Happy Easter also. As we'd discussed I have just done the egg thing, chewed the ends off the carrots that the tin lids had left out and then ran a trail of Easter Bunny poo (jelly beans) from room to room with a nice cluster at the front door from where his journey had started. They should love it!

oldman3,AUSSIE54, sorry I keep forgetting to check the wheels and tires for you. I will tomorrow.

It seems like I have not posted for a while. I made a tool for the air chisel to contour the belt line. I have to round it a bit more but it does work for the small dents. I then made the dolly of the profile of the outside of the belt line. I made it on a bridgeport mill with a ball nose end mill. Then blended it on the belt sander. I tried it out on a sample piece of belt line I made. I hit it with a hammer to put a dent in then took it out with my new tool. I have a small area to fix on my panel where I welded the new bent line to the old and it pulled in a little bit. So hopefully it will fix it.

Next was the emergency brake that I worked on. I had a pedal and cable laying around so I used it. I bought the lokar rear ones for the new disc brakes. So I made mounts for the pedal and made new mounts for the cables too. I welded them to the boxed area on the inside of the frame. It worked out great, now I have to bleed the brakes yet.

Next was the wipers. And what a pain in the A$$. I bought the Its A Snap ones a couple of years ago, and if I had it to do over I would used the factory ones and used the Blazer rear hatch motor and went that route. I will have to make custom defroster vents because that is where the wiper transmissions are. I wanted them to work like the factory ones do, so one had to be mounted one way and the other the opposite way. I cheated and used poly line instead of the aluminum tube for the bends and the area tying the transmissions together. I just made stub pieces to go into it. I mounted the motor in the passenger side lower cowl. I think I have to change the stroke on them but at least they go back and forth. I used the factory outside pieces so the angle of the wipers was right. I cut off the the end and then drilled out the hole on a lathe so the new wiper transmission would go into it. Then had to shorten it up about 3/8 of a inch. They are 54 ones. That was one of the many thing I got rid of years ago that I should not have! I also bought aluminum wiper arms also.

luuuuuuv that beltline tool you made. You should seriously make and sell those. Not everyone has access to a machine shop, so it would be much harder for them to make something like that.

99 to Life, Thank you. The only bad thing is you could not use them on much except a panel truck. You probably could not use it on the doors without cutting a access hole and the back of the cab is all closed up too. It would work on the cowl though.

oldman3, AUSSIE54, They are 20 inchers in the back and they either 8 or 8.5 wide with a 4 inch back space. The tires are 255/35ZR20.

I now have the wipers finished now and removed them so that I could redo some metal work that I did. I now have the metal work all done around the windshield now and I am beginning the filler work now. I made a new cowl vent filler. I did it in two pieces and I put my belt line dies in the bead roller and did a 1/2 up in them, then needed to bend it up a little. I then welded to two pieces together. It was easier than trying to get a good edge at the belt line. I had a few other pieces that I need in the belt line. So I just ran some off and cut it out of that. I also had my little helper for a couple hours today. He loved getting dirty but his mom did not.
