Didnt like the big wrap around stepside bumper and it was welded on so i couldnt replace it. So i chopped it, welded on sides, and painted it

Re: lets see your custom touches

Not nearly as creative and skilled as some of the ideas on here... But just a little something different.
I needed some mirrors after my factory ones were scrapped and smoothed over after the paint work. Wanted something just a but different. Decided to put 70-72 chevelle mirrors on. Close to stock but a bit "custom" I guess

Re: lets see your custom touches

I cut out and rearranged the letters and flipped the V to fake the A .I then tacked them together as flat and strait as I could get them. If you ever get the chance to get the magnets out of a computer hard drive ,they are extreamy strong and work well at holding pannel edges in place.

Did you keep the dimensions for the Stainless Panel? I want to do this same setup in mine. The PO butchered the radio hole..

Re: lets see your custom touches

Put "348" on the front fender, put a Colt shifter handle on a manual floor shifter I converted for the 2004-r transmission, and a 1960 348 with 3x2s I rebuilt over the winter.

Since I can't leave well enough alone.
Rolled a straight tube, welded it together, drilled holes, welded in center section, still a work in progress.

The amount of ideas that are moving right now are amazing! Thanks to all of those posted, I have got my work cut out for me now!

Some of you are quite ingenious, and have spurred something that is out of control!

Please take no offense, I believe some around these parts would prefer to be shot than put that stuff in their rig.

But then again....

What did you have to do to get the radio in the heater control slot?

This gives me an idea. I wanted a way to commemorate the truck build to my father. I got it from him a couple months before he passed away. He was 37 years Air Force and was in Viet-Nam for several years. After he passed away I was going through his stuff and found a bunch of old Hot-Rod magazines from the 60's with Viet-Nam address where he was stationed. That would make an awesome headliner and tie him to the truck. Conversation piece for sure.

I added the whole billet gas pedal assembly and the brake pedal cover yesterday to my 71.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
