Pete, I am impressed...you took a good bed and turned it into a great bed. You are sure doing the whole truck right. AS it was not as you wish it was.
Always appreciate you Paul and Jason

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
Got the AM/FM radio back from a refurbish by Jerry Rudbeck at Electrodesign (electrodesign.us). His service and quality is top class!!!! In addition to the refurbish (that includes repainting that dial bar thing and polishing the selector buttons) he straightened a bent cooling fin and installed an aux jack.

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Thanks guys, I will get this thing out on the road. The year I spent scrounging parts for the build has helped moved things along once it hit the shop. Having good sheet metal helped too. Here are before and after pics of the OEM bumpers I had repaired and re-chromed. The plating shop did an excellent job.

Jeff -
Electroplating of El Paso (http://www.electroplatingelpaso.com/). Here's the thread I posted with more pics and other member experiences with this company: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=495482 . They did an excellent job. I may send some hub caps their way soon. Keep us posted if you use them. Pete

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
I thought that was who you used, I have had some emails with them and do plan to use them on my 36 Grill. Just need to find a box big enough to ship it in and work up the courage to ship it.

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Man that's awesome on the bumpers! Were they really pricey? I'd like to get my bumpers on my 40 Ford rechromed. The aftermarket ones are thin and expensive!

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Total for both bumpers was $400 and change - that priced was picked up at the shop but the shipping wasn't much. They made that front bumper look new from the outside (you can see the hammer marks inside).

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Thanks again for the compliments! Took some pics today. It's coming together. The sound deadener was new to me. It's some asphalt-like compound sandwiched around aluminum.
Are the tailgate hinges body color or unfinished? Also want to wish Paul Duncan (Duncan and Son) all the best with his recovery. You and Jason be strong and hang in there. I'll be driving out this truck out to visit when its all done. I want to cash in on that moon pie and Dr. Pepper offer. Always appreciate you!

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Thanks! Got a set of five OEM 16.5 x 8.25 steelies (see post #78 for a pic) with dog dish caps to match. Yeah, it's getting time to bolt those on...

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build
Man that is a beautiful truck you are building there. Doing a top notch job.
I want to see that air lift controller installed and functional! it is pretty slick. I am going to be installing helper bags on my 72 K30 Cummins, I think converting one of those controls to run it would be too neat!
