I can see the light!
This is a household light socket that the po put in. I put a 12 volt bulb in it and it works!

Re: A 15 year old's project. Rusty 62 stepside
That's so cool. Years ago I used to use a five watt bulb in household socket hooked to my CB radio. It would light up when you talk or modulate. Really neat way of testing the radio.

Re: A 15 year old's project. Rusty 62 stepside
First day of Christmas break, so I got busy. Built a 1bbl to 2bbl adaptor plate out of aluminum. Ported and polished the inside so it should flow pretty good. Then I got started on the linkage, the pic below is the pedal assembly after I flipped the arm so when I give it gas it pulls instead of pushing. Then I built a rod with bends that goes from the pedal arm to the carb. Here's a video: http://youtu.be/PU0i3WgsB0Y

Made a cross member to put between the frame rails for the gas tank straps to bolt to. I will weld it in place later today.

Re: A 15 year old's project. Rusty 62 stepside
Ok no pics right now but I finished all of the gas tank straps and mounts and bolted the tank in. Now it's time to pull it back off and get the bumper mounted so I know where to cut the hole for the gas filler.

Re: A 15 year old's project. Rusty 62 stepside
Started working on mounting the bumper. Built one of two brackets that will be welded to the bumper and bolt to a piece of angle iron that will go inside the frame rails. I made the holes oblong so that the height of the bumper can be adjusted.

Nice work on the bumper brackets. Did you really make the slots with a file?

Thanks guys. Yes I made them with a drill press, a hacksaw but mostly files. Took a while. Times like these when a cnc plasma cutter would come in handy
