Re: 1972 K5 CST Highlander Blazer Patina Texas

Well I got me another 350 from my father in laws blazer that he's doing. I took his original 350 and put it in mine for now. He's doing the ls swap in his right now. So I am letting him do all the work on his now. Then I will probably do the ls swap on my during the winter. I got the motor swapped last weekend and have been driving it the last few days. Just need to get a few other small things done. Factory bumper guards and tach dash installed, new carpet and hopefully new seat covers are in next week.

Would love to see the install of the LS. I've been thinking hard about a LS swap into my K5. The 5.3 LS would be my choice on a budget.

Re: 1972 K5 CST Highlander Blazer Patina Texas

Nice find and good progress. Is there a reason for adding base mirrors to this beyond having them in hand? As a Promo Package Highlander Blazer the DF2 Camper Mirrors were the only mirrors offered on it.

If another SBC is also a consideration, how about a 383 or 406? This would keep it very original looking but with a boost in performance.

Lol @ Maddoxdb. I would consider buying a set of the camper mirrors. I tried to buy some from Maddoxdb. But the biggest reason right now is my garage is so packed with vehicles the camper mirrors maybe a hindrance on getting it in the garage. I would like to find a set to put on just to get rid of all the holes in the doors from the original mirrors.

Need to post a WTB in the classifieds, actually do it for both the band and the DF2 camper mirrors! :-)

Well boys, kinda hit a home run today. Found some good parts. Factory skid plate, tow hooks, woodgrain tailgate banners, and several disc brake steel wheels.
