Nice job on the chassis rebuild, the dirty work is done, now for the artistic part of the build. I noticed you decided to go with front Drum brakes any particular reason?

Well, I did nothing on the truck Thursday. I just sat around. Today I cleaned some more parts. Drive shaft, e-brake, brake booster support and hood latches.

Re: 1968

Nice progress as usual.
You are really making some headway on the truck.
Have you thought about finding a relacement grill considering yours is pretty torn up, it might be more work than its worth to fix it.

Re: 1968

I found a pair of valve coves on a small block chevrolet with the letters MT who and what are they. The color is green and no it does not look like they were painted for they are alum.

Re: 1968

Yes you can put a 69-72 hood on a 67-68 but you cant put a 69-72 grill into 67-68 fenders.
I dont think the 67-68 grill will look right without the slant nose hood though.

M/T Mickey Thompson, legendary racer and most recogniozed for Mickey Thompson tires. Some are vintage but now some of those valve covers are being reproduced. Someone may have had them anodized green I have only seen them in natural aluminum and painted, usually black with the ribs sanded down. I had a couple sets in the past, traded my last set for some vintage aluminum bowtie valve covers.

like these.
