Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
Your garage is turning out so cool maybe I should move my projects to your digs!
Brad, I still have a fair-sized stack of Milgard vinyl sound-abatement windows (new and never installed) that I'll be getting gone ASAP. If you plan on someday installing more windows, you are welcome to any you think you can use. PM me if you are interested. Keep up the good work!

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
Shop progress has been slow. Real slow. So many half done projects it amazes even me.
Took out some retirment money(whos going to retire anyway LOL) and poured a slab out front of one bay big enough for jr. to be able to play some BB with his friends. Also did a sidewalk from the house to the shop. (never mind the mess, just finished pour) Now I have some very torn up yard to deal with, but no more muddy shoes walking back and forth from the shop in the long rainy fall/winter/springs we have.

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
Thanks for the reply's I really like my shop I just wish I had the money to finish it before I packed it full of "stuff" and dug into the projects.
Sure makes it hard to do upgrades in the shop while stumbling over things. As you can see in my latest change. I am getting too old to work in the cold. My goal is to have the 2 bays sealed off and insulated to give my little G73 heater half a chance. Made slider doors or I should say I hired a guy to help me.(I helped him) I'm a do it yourselfer but for speeds sake it was nice to just have it done.

Still need to seal them. Made some progress on my sheetrock. I don't do so well at that but a friend of mine does. He came buy to pick up his concrete tools. And came back with mudding tools and I basically stayed out of the way. Cool stuff watching someone who can fix my screw ups. LOL Now I have to make a door for my compressor. Always something!

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
A little effort on the projects then a little effort on the shop. Back and forth,
back and forth. I suppose as long as I'm making steps in the right direction thats the important thing. Some sheetrock work today. Used the engine hoist as a helper as well as some 2by's here and there. Had a piece of sheetrock over my head and could not reach my screw gun. Cell phone came in handy. "Honey can you come out in the shop?"

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
Small bits of progress here and there. Already the doors and sheetrock work have made it heat faster and I have yet to close the doors and seal up many gaps. Pretty happy so far.
The one slider door was pretty warped so I dug up some 'stuff' I had laying around and made a bump out roller to push the door away from the sheetrock. Added hardi board for the bottom 1 foot of my wall to protect against wet cars draining on my shop floor. (Seattle area) Will cover that with tile.

Well those things aren't really overrated as they look. The shop can be the ones just to control them.

Hey, you forgot the hope holder!
Nice job on the slab and pathway. I wish I could say progress at my shop was slow because of doing something useful on the side, but........

Whats a hope holder? Thanks. Its getting there, just when I get things clean and somewhat organized. I find a way to trash it. Which is what its for, at least on the inside.

I was going to dig out part of the retaining wall and mount the pole but ran out of time. For now the portable water filled one we have been using will have to work. Hope to get that handled before the weather turns. I'll post pics.

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
Wow, copper piping for the air lines? I'm using high pressure CPVC in my current little building and will probably use PEX in my new building. That copper is to $$$ for this kid

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
I have subscribed to this thread long ago but haven't seen any recent email notifications in my in box, still wanting to figure out if there is a limit to what this board will send out or if i don't post will the email notifications eventually stop?
Anyway, it looks like you have a heater mounted to the ceiling in one of your pictures, Is that the G73 you mentioned earlier? is that propane? I'm looking to buy a heater for my garage but i want to be safe about what i pick, i have been known for hanging up plastic to make small paint areas, ect. I don't want to buy anything that might ignite any vapors.

I'm happy with the G73 however I wish I spent a bit more and added a mini split. Online they can be had cheap. Maybe Freakshow has an opinion on that? He did my home heat pump. If you want to come over and check out the G73 your welcome too. Just PM me.

Re: Digging Holes For Shop Today!
I tried to Google it and came up short, do you have any more info on it so i can look it up? Per the mini split, i was concidering if a heater like that would work well in my garage. The units i saw were for inside a house, i didn't recall anything about a condenser tho so i guess what i saw was something else?
I'm actually looking for electric, maybe a couple hundred or so spent. Man Freakshow finished his kids truck and kinda dropped off the forum, he did stop by last summer, gave me a couple items he had laying around that he didn't need any more, haven't heard or seen him around since. Real nice guy!
