I cut out the windows for the fog lights and then boxed in the bottom and sides. I painted the back and bottom with epoxy paint. I'll use all-metal filler to dress the welds and smooth the edges

And the tedious process of bodywork continues. I'm pretty amazed at how smooth its looking. I'm on the final glaze stage, filling in little low spots and pinholes. Hopefully I'll primer it and have paint on it by the weekend
Also, I ordered front and rear sway bars as well as a strut tower brace from bmr suspension and they showed up today. Josh

I didn't like the sharp corners on the leading edge of the air dam, so I cut them out and welded in a radiused edge from a section of a stainless steel truck bumper my dad had laying around. I'm much happier with the way it looks now.

I'm trying to figure out how to install a battery cutoff switch and utilize the fuel filler door since I can't seem to find a patch panel to delete it. I ordered a fuel tank cap and battery cutoff switch, drilled a hole in the cap and, to my surprise, the cap is secure enough to toggle on and off without any other modifications. Now I have to figure out the mounting and running of the battery negative to and from the switch.

I bodyworked and primered the air dam again. While I was at it, I primered the side skirts and rear skirts that I made out of the 67-68 camaro air dam. It was hard to see how things looked with the darker colors

I put the air dam back on so I could see how the side skirts would look. My dilemma is how do I run the tapered skirts? Big end up front, tapering to the rear or small end up front, getting bigger toward the back?

I finally got around to pulling the wagon outside, jacking up the rearend and staging the ground effects. It's definitely lower in the front now, but I like the stance

Then I replaced the front sway bar and bushings. The linkage to the struts was seized so I cut the ends off and ordered me ones.

I cut the front dogleg off a spare fender and was messing around with the idea of rounding out the backs of the fender openings, but I didn't really see a plus to doing the rears and then having to do the fronts. So instead, i went ahead and cut the front of the skirts of to match the existing fender design. I'm liking it a lot more.
Also while I had the car on the lift, I adjusted the rear coil overs, so that's the new stance now Josh

And since I raised the rear, I lost some clearance at the front. It's exactly 4 inches in the center

No real progress on the wagon. Been fixing other projects, and to be honest, I've been at a stand still about the wheels. So my overly obsessive brain started looking at c6 corvette wheels. My friend Josh has a set on a project, and I vaguely remember putting them on and then rubbing the inner fenders well. Mathematically they fit, so I borrowed a wheel and tried again. Turns out, there's a little bump by the strut that pokes out just enough to rub the inner sidewall. I checked the passenger side first because that's where the fuel filler neck pipe runs behind the wheel, so if that rubs, there's no point. But on the driver's side, I massaged that bump with a hammer and the tire clears. Plus it's got more backspacing which gives me another 1/2 inch from the outer fender lip, which is exactly what I wanted. The tires on these wheels are 285/35r19. I'm going to run 275/40r19, which gives me another 1/4 of clearance from what you see in the pictures. The first picture is the style of rim I'm looking at for sale locally, but the guy is out of town until the 19th. Well see what happens

I hate how open the rear wheel well is behind the tire. I was playing around, thinking about making a side exit exhaust tip to fill in the space. I revisited the front fender idea, but I didn't like having the tear drop sweep on the front and not the back. Then I started measuring and cutting the front fender dogleg for the rear wheel well. The yellow fenders are trash, so I played around with them first. Then I transferred what I learned on to a pair of 66 front fenders I have. I painted them white for continuity and I think I just solved my dilemma. The next dilemma is finding a door skin I can use to cut up and finish the body line all the way to the rear bumper. I do have some rocker panels that might work. I'll keep you posted

I finally got my hands on a pair of 2010 cadillac srx tail lights. They've got the tail, brake, turn and reverse lights all in one housing. I made a tape template, transferred it to cardboard and reassembled the "mold" with more tape. This was to see if this was the right look before doing any serious cutting on the body

And so at the point of no return, I cut the pointed end off to better situate the template I made and mark the quarter panel for cutting. I trimmed the tail light bucket to fit inside the quarter panel. I secured everything with self tapers and painted it white for continuity. I'm liking it

I cut out sections of an old driver's door to make up the rest if the quarter panel. The other missing patch closer to the door handle is to delete the fuel filler door. Once I got the door skin in place, I cut off a section of outer rocker panel to fill in the bottom. Personally, I'm very impressed on how is looking.
