Re: 68' Chevy c10
xxchevymanxx, I finished reading through your build. I just wanted to tell you I enjoyed reading and seeing the pics of your progress. I like that you have taken the time to clean and paint everything. It is looking really nice. You have done a very good job of detailing everything.
The 327 is looking pretty sharp. My truck used to have a 327 in it and it scooted my truck along pretty easily. I have a 350 in it now but would love to have another little 327. Have you decided on a color for the exterior? Anyways keep up the good work. Keith |

Re: 68' Chevy c10
I can't wait to start painting the truck. I've been trying to finish up the body work while the motor is built, and restore engine parts at the same time. I will be able to spend some real time on it now that the weekend is here.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks Greg, I just painted the needles on the gauges after a cleaning, and sprayed the backdrop satin black. I'm going to try to fix the bezel too.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Well I had a small problem with my gauge bezel. I used a couple of paints that didn't like each other. So I soaked the whole thing in Purple Power over night, and now I'm starting over. I have it in primer again. so far so good. also been sandblasting more small parts. I'll try to have some pics up soon.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
That sucks. Some paints just dont do to well together. I have that problem sometimes with cheapo rattlecan primer and a decent base/clear. The solvents eat up the primer and there goes your finish.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks for checking out my build 68 Four on the Floor. I'm sure this won't be the last time for paint issues. it ended up looking like an antique crackle finish. It was kinda cool, but not what I was going for.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks Man. If all goes well today I will have the undercoating done, then installing energy suspension body mount bushings. All except the core support bushings. Going to put the motor back in first.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks Greg, The bezel is one of the many things I've been working on, and still haven't made up my mind on color. I know the edge and rings will be silver, and the face satin black or the color I'm painting the truck (but satin finish).

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Some better shots of the undercoating. Better coverage with two more cans.
Didn't get these in today. Went to check on motor. It's Ready to pick up! More Details on the engine when I get it...
