Re: 84 C10 Project
Hopefully in the next few weeks, I can't wait. Now, I just need to save up and get the brakes taken care of.
I will post pictures as soon as they get mounted and balanced. |

Re: 84 C10 Project
This is a 3d model of the wheel I am getting. No center cap is shown, but you might have to use a little imagination to envision it. It will be a dark charcoal center with a chrome outer. Have a deep dish on the rear.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Got to work on finishing the whole front end of the truck. Picked up a aluminum radiator, and re-painted the core support. As of now, the whole frame is painted front to back, and I am glad that is over with. That was a lot of work getting that done.

Re: 84 C10 Project
So, started the wiring on my truck and got most of it done, just need to finish the inside wiring, and figure out the dash. I am thinking of making a new dash for the truck, but not sure yet.
Also pulled the engine and cleaned up the firewall holes behind. Still have the rest to shave, but got that little section done. Last edited by Pro Performance; 02-21-2013 at 01:40 PM. |

Re: 84 C10 Project
Luifer76, what are you running for front shocks? I have the aftermarket control arms, and want to use the stock frame mount.
What do you have that works and compresses down short, but still have good travel for lifting up, while still using factory mounts? Are you using factory mounts? |

Re: 84 C10 Project
Made a little progress today. I cut out the dash in order to get ready to fabricate the new one. Also pulled the column and cleaned up around the steering column area. I still have the rest of the firewall to shave.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Made a lot of progress this weekend. Installed the Lokar throttle and TV cable linkage, overflow tank, brake booster w/ master, power steering box. Made rear shock mounts, installed brake booster and bled brakes. Also put on new alternator brackets.
I know... the mechanical fan has got to go. I have an electric already that I haven't put on yet. Last edited by Pro Performance; 02-21-2013 at 01:37 PM. |

Re: 84 C10 Project
Thanks guys. This weekend will be the first time I drive it with the air ride. It will be interesting. Still haven't had time to get front shocks on, but it should be Ok for a 10 mile trip on side streets. haha
I am working on the new dash this weekend. Try to have pics up on Sunday evening. |

Re: 84 C10 Project
It helps having friends that can do 3D. This is a very rough model of the general shape of the new dash for the truck.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Got some progress done on the dash. Wen t a little different direction and decided to center all the gauges. More of a hotrod look in my opinion, and kind of liked how it looked.
I first tried polyester material, but the resin didn't like the thin material and it just made it feel like duct tape. So, I had to re-wrap with fleece and re-apply the resin. It is fully drying today, so should be done when i get home this evening. Still have to make the "face of the dash", and the bottom half. This is the start though. Soon, I will have a picture of it in the truck. I am finishing the glass work this weekend, and hopefully be making the "face" of the dash also.
