Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Noticed your Burb thread and looked the whole thing over, very nice find and really like the direction your going with it...especially the Big block, have to have a big block in everyone of my builds and most of my buddy's too. Should move the burb pretty good with the 3.73 ratio and 4spd. Keep up the cool build, thanks for sharing.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Thanks Hemi and mudman...your responses help keep us motivated!
My son was working on his truck with our paint/body buddy today and left me to fend for myself Finished up the AC comp mount...it will be a while before we work out the rest of the AC system but I wanted to have the comp on for fitment. Other than running plug wires, the engine/trans is about ready to drop in...

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
We wanted to clean up the engine bay a bit before dropping the new drivetrain and needed to repair a bit of rust along the top of the firewall.
I've welded most of my life, but have always shied away from bodywork...didn't want to fubar something Decided to jump into the firewall work, figured it would be easy to hide if needed. I think it'll be alright...

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Hey Chad, look foward to meeting you in a couple weeks.
We looked at those same hubcaps but they require 1/2" studs where we have 7/16"...didn't feel like swapping studs at the time, but they do look better than the original 4x4 ralley caps. We'd like to see somebody step up and manufacture some nice, inexpensive spider caps for the six lugs.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
My son got a bit carried away with "rolling the floor mat back" to accomodate relief cutting the fire wall.
He found a layer of ceiling tile nicely cut and fit between the tar mat and the floormat...guess the old owner wanted more insulation?? Also looks like I'll have a little more sheet metal practice on the floor...
